Incredible trip, and really nice host

Best host in Lapland

Everything. The location was great if you like nature, as the forest starts directly behind the house, and there is a lake around 10 minutes walking time. Our host, Petteri, was super friendly, always ready to answer our questions and tell us about the culture and living in Lapland. He was very eager to help us see auroras, and it worked! We were able to see them with him on our first night there, and also on the next 2 nights! (The fotos were taken in the forest behind the apartment) We also booked 2 activities with him: a reindeer farm visit and a husky ride tour. Both were great, we enjoyed them very much.

Best accomodation in all Lapland

The best stay in all Lapland! The apartment is extremely well located, comfortable, and well appointed. Petteri the host is knowledgeable on the area, can be your tour guide for many activities, and is very helpful and proactive with helping find auroras!! This is a traditional Bed and Breakfast and in all the best ways. The listing pictures on booking.com dont do the property justice, what you get is better than the listing will suggest. We are a family of 4 with 2 kids under 7, and while it was cosy, the apartment was big enough to cater for our needs. Petteri gave us directions to (and also took me to) all the best aurora spots both near and far. We are extremely happy with our stay and highly recommend!!

The best authentic experience and stay in Lapland

Petteri (the host) is the kindest and the most gracious host we've ever had the pleasure to be hosted by. This goes beyond his professionalism, each day we stayed there Petteri made sure that we are getting the best experiences possible with his tips and recommendations, we asked about local Finnish cuisine (planning on getting it later in the city) and Petteri just knocked on our door and gave us some Karelian pies he got on the way home later that day. It's the little stuff he did that proved to me that we are more than just business customers to him, but genuine guests and friends. We've never hesitated to ask any questions and we always received an honest and whole-hearted answer. The apartment itself contains everything you'll need for a stay in Ivalo, there is a 30 minute walk to the center of Ivalo, and a 1 minute walk to a nearby dreamy forest and lake behind the apartment. We spent whole evenings just walking around and exploring the nearby wilderness. If the sky is clear, and there is Aurora activity in the region, it is visible from the backyard! There is no light pollution, we just stepped outside and enjoyed the lightshow! The other experiences Petteri offered to us during the stay were perfect 10/10 too! We hoped for a perfect trip and in the end got even more than that. Can't wait to visit again <3

Amazing trip

Petteri welcomed us very well in Ivalo. The apartment is very clean, modern and functional (all we need is there). We were able to have several experiences thanks to Petteri: snowmobile, reindeer farm, traditional meals and see the northern lights! We are very happy with our trip to Ivalo, Petteri is a caring and warm person.

Perfect host and Auroras!

Petteri is a perfect host! He gave me all the information I needed to have the best stay at his apartment. We went 2 times for hunting Auroras and it was very successful due to his expertise. He does everything for people to be able to see Auroras. He is polite and friendly, shared with me many stories and arranged many activities for me during my stay. Always very welcoming. The apartment is impeccable, beautiful, clean, new and has everything you need for a perfect and comfortable stay. He is engaged to make everything perfect. I super recommend the apartment and Petteri as a host and as a perfect guide for Auroras as well. Thank you so much Petteri!

Absolutely perfect place to stay! My husband and I had the best time at Neitamo 44 and are so glad we chose to stay here! To start of- Petteri is the best host! We came as guests but left as friends - he really enjoys meeting new people and hosts everyone with all his heart. He helped me arrange a surprise birthday dinner for my husband where he cooked us a delicious traditional meal - for vegetarians (which is hard to find in all of Finland) in his lovely little hut with a fireplace and Sami music! I still the miss the taste of the food and hope to have it again! He shared so many stories about his life and it’s truly inspirational what he’s achieved! Next up is his dedication to make our experience the best! He is so good at tracking the auroras and was sure to keep me posted if there was any activity! We will always remember the first time we saw the full Aurora borealis right outside apartment Neitamo 44. He also took us to his favourite spot and stayed out in the cold with us for an hour! The place itself is very cute and comfortable, thoughtfully decorated with an excellent bed! We were able to drive around Ivalo and to the outskirts easily! The views are pretty and we will always remember this holiday! Cannot wait to visit again! Petteri also helped us with recommendations for other parts of Finland to explore and we followed his suggestions blindly which turned out to be incredible too! I recommend Neitamo 44 100/100 so do yourself a favour and book it if you’re lucky enough to have it available!

If you would like to experience the true Lappish lifestyle and see the aurora, you absolutely must stay at Neitamo44 and

We spent an unforgettable two nights and three days he showed us the Aurora Borealis, served us a traditional Lappish dinner, showed us a tasty reindeer burger restaurant, took us tobogganing, showed us a reindeer farm to feed the reindeer and even cut a hole in the frozen lake to let us dip in the icy waters! Petteri’s expertise and local knowledge meant that despite the cloudy conditions for our stay, he was able to drive us to the perfect place to view the Aurora Borealis. It was so perfect in fact, that I took the opportunity to propose to my girlfriend beneath shimmering skies. A moment which we will cherish forever. The accommodation is incredibly cozy and clean as a perfect spot to stay to experience nature. His hospitality is beyond anything we ever expected and he was extremely patient and generous with sharing his experience and knowledge in answering every question we had. I cannot recommend this place enough.

The owner is the best host you can wish for and doing everything to make your stay as good as it can be. We went Aurora hunting with him and allthough it was cloudy, he kept driving around untill we saw them. PERFECT

Apartment is nice and comfy. Had everything we needed and more. Everthing was very very clean. Petteri is the good soul of the apartment and helped us so much to find the right activities during our stay and spots to see aurora lights. He managed the booking of a husky sled tour which was wonderful, we did a snowmobile tour with him, he even texted us the newest aurora borealis forecasts. Thank you so so much! Near the apartment there is a lake from where you can see the aurora lights. You can do a little midnight walk on your own. This was magical.

Only thing I was missing - and this is nothing curcial just personal preference - was a door between bedroom and kitchen so you do not smell food after cooking while falling asleep ;) As we like it warm in the kitchen and cold in the bedroom the door would help here as well :) this is again personal preference.

From the time we booked, communication with Petteri was spot on. He was very quick to respond to any queries and helped us book excursions at a much more reasonable price than other touristy areas of Lapland. He even provided us with free breakfast on the first day and showed us the nearby places to go. We opted for airport pick up and we were received by Petteri and he should us around Ivalo village and even stopped at the shopping mart so that we could pickup supplies. The wilderness starts from just behind the apartment and you feel close to nature. You have options to rent snowmobile, sleds, snow shoes from Petteri himself. We will always remember Apartment Neitamo 44.

Petteri is a kind and warm hearted host who gave us many advice and help with our trip here. We can't imagine how we can "survive" in such a cold weather without Petteri's boots and gloves. The apartment is amzing and tasted decorations. You can quickly get yourself warmed ginger inside the apartment after the outside activities. He provided us the first breakfast matetials but believe me there're a lot more than just breakfast! We will definitely come back again in the future and recommend it to our friends!

L’allotjament és molt petit però perfectament equipat. Trobareu inclús un esmorzar per al primer dia. L’entorn està molt bé, de seguida trobes bosc per sortir a caminar i absoluta foscor. Schöner Lappland Urlaub !

Wir haben das Apartment unter anderem auch aufgrund der vielen guten Bewertungen gebucht und können wirklich alles Positive bestätigen! Die Unterkunft ist sehr sauber, gut ausgestattet und hatte für uns die perfekte Lage am Rand von Ivalo. Gleich hinter dem Apartment befindet sich ein großer Wald, wo man sehr gut spazieren und auch einen im Winter zugefrorenen See erreichen kann. Allgemein ein perfekter Ort, wenn man z.B. gerne in der Natur Ausschau nach den Polarlichtern halten will, aber auch noch das Zentrum von Ivalo zu Fuß in 30 Minuten erreichen kann. Hervorzuheben ist der nette Gastgeber Petteri, der unseren Urlaub unvergesslich gemacht hat. Bereits im Voraus haben wir über seine Webseite sämtliche Ausflüge gebucht (Huskytour, Schneemobiltour, Rentierfarm, Abendessen) die wirklich alle eine 10/10 waren - sehr zu empfehlen! Zudem hat er uns immer über die Polarlichter informiert, wodurch wir diese mehrmals sehen konnten, hat uns viel über die regionale Kultue erklärt und uns auch von der Sauna abgeholt, die wir woanders gebucht hatten. Durch Petteris aufmerksame Art war alles perfekt organisiert. Man hat in jeder Situation gespürt, dass Petteri seine Arbeit mit großer Freude und von ganzem Herzen macht. Für uns war der Urlaub in dieser Unterkunft ein einmaliges Erlebnis und ist nur zu empfehlen!

Nous avons beaucoup aimé l’emplacement de l’appartement qui permettait d’observer les aurores boréales directement depuis le jardin qui se trouve derrière. Appartement très propre, confortable, bien agencé. Sans oublier Petteri, qui a été au petit soins avec nous, disponible via whatsapp si nous avions des questions. Mais aussi en personne, il nous a accueilli, partagé des moments avec nous lors des aurores ( nous montre et conseil les spots importants mais surtout nous prévient lorsqu’il y en a une ) , prend des photos lors des aurores dans son jardin, organise vos activités… un séjour inoubliable

Fantastische Unterkunft mit liebstem Gastgeber!

Ich bin schon sehr viel mit meiner Mama gereist und wir haben schon viel gesehen, aber diese Unterkunft - insbesondere Petteris Gastfreundschaft - hat alles übertroffen! Petteri ist der liebste Gastgeber, den wir jemals kennenlernen durften. Er hat uns sowohl vor, als auch während der Reise sooo viele Tipps, Ideen und Hilfestellungen gegeben. Wir konnten aufgrund seiner Hilfe mehrere Male Nordlichter sehen! Ohne seinen Input wäre unser Urlaub nicht so unglaublich schön gewesen. Die Unterkunft war super sauber, gemütlich und hatte wirklich alles (!) was man nur brauchen könnte. Es wurde sich so sehr um unser Wohl gemüht und wir schätzen das sehr. Wir hatten ein Auto gemietet und waren damit in 5 Min beim Supermarkt! Das Haus liegt direkt am Waldrand, was uns sehr gefallen hat (wir lieben die Ruhe)! Allgemein kann man viel unternehmen in der Gegend: Skifahren, Husky-Schlittenfahrt, Sami Museum, saunieren usw. Das war einer der schönsten Urlaube, die wir jemals hatten. Danke für alles, Petteri!
