Lovely room, really comfy bed. No fuss check in and check out process
Bathroom was a little bit hot, but probably could have turned the radiator down myself

Great location, looks lovely from the outside, great parking facilities
Needs updating as it’s very old. Needs new beds as they are incredibly uncomfortable. Our room was full of flies and ladybirds due to the windows being left open.

A good place to stay when working away.
Plenty of parking, and the rooms are a good size.
A nice simple menu.
The rooms could do with smartening up a little.

Very pleasant, would like to stay for more than one night next time.
Everything about it was lovely, we would stay again. We all had a good nights sleep, nice and peaceful, a far better experience than a motorway side hotel.
We have no complaints, just a couple of suggestions, to have a extra kitchen chair would be useful, and also a jar of coffee, as an option, would be good

Do yourself a favour and DON'T stay here
Literally nothing.
Upon arrival, I couldn't locate reception. There is none, so I popped into the bar, where a member of staff gave me the key. I went to the room, and the door was wide open and propped with a chair to stay open. All windows were slightly cracked opened too. It seemed they were airing the room before my arrival, and yes, I could smell odour of very old, stale beer. Upon quick inspection, the things I noticed:
* Carpet has not been hoovered, and there was lots of visible debris on the ground
* There was a random (assume used) wooden spoon left on the radiator
* Complimentary breakfast in the room (porridge pot and pain au chocolate) had both pastries expired on 16th August - and I arrived on 5th Sept!
* Tower fan in the room was covered in a sticky, caked in dust - literally environmental hazard to use it!
* The bathroom floor had some debris on, and in the corner next to the shower, there was lots of hair from a variety of places on the human body.
* The shower rim was dirty, with a visible build-up of dust, which you clearly could see was not cleaned for a long while.
* Window in the bathroom was cracked quite badly
* Everything was just dust and felt sticky to the touch
* The room itself looked old and outdated, nothing like what I have seen in the pictures
* Walls in the room were dirty and in one place splattered with something
* Cealing in the bathroom had a mould over the shower
I couldn't stay, it was that disgusting! It messed up my plans for the whole weekend and made everything so much stressful. I left after less than half an hour after arrival, after I made sure I took enough pictures to evidence this disaster. Gave the keys back to a staff and said I'm leaving because the room is filthy and I literally can't stay there. Both of the staff didn't seem to be that interested in this, didn't do anything, or try talking to me.
I emailed them that evening, 5th September, requesting a full refund.

Just don't stay here
The only good thing this hotel did was supply croissant and porridge in the room free of charge
I was very disappointed with my stay at this hotel. The room was extremely dirty, with filthy fans and items scattered across the floor that clearly hadn’t been hoovered. The kettle was so old it took around eight minutes just to boil.
The noise levels were also a big issue. The walls are not soundproofed, so I could hear everything from the room next door. On top of that, the staff were unhelpful and made me feel like an inconvenience. One of the younger staff members didn’t even know the basic check-out times.
The kitchen was closed because the boss was away, which meant there was nothing to eat on-site. Fortunately, I had brought my own blankets, as the room didn’t feel clean at all.
The only positive was the location, which was close to where I needed to be. Other than that, I would not recommend this hotel.

Super for basing a weekend
Lovely building and nice spacious rooms. Welcome bar and very friendly staff. Bathroom was huge and quirky.
Kitchen closed unfortunately which meant a 15 minutes to the next pub for food! Not a massive problem as it wasn’t raining.

A pleasant overnight stop with good bar food and friendly locals.
The building has character. Parking is good and staff are really nice.
Shower was weak and temperature control unreliable.

A great hotel to spend the night. Good food + drink options in the bar, friendly staff too. The playground and tree dragon are a nice touch for families too!

Nice food and selection of drinks in the bar, we would stay again if ever in Hereford again.
Nice location, spacious rooms. Although on a main road, we were able to leave the windows open at night and not be disturbed by traffic.
Lack of breakfast, we knew this on booking though, so can’t complain. Had breakfast snack in the room 1st morning, but wasn’t replaced for our 2nd morning.

Comfy bed, spacious bathroom and the snacks for breakfast in the room were a lovely touch plus water bottles.
The style and how it was not too modern had a bit of character. Parking was great. Clean and staff were friendly.
We stayed in room one the door outside leading down towards the stairs was very noisy. Could hear everyone who went through it .

Lovely period property that will become a gem under the new management
The place is under new management and clearly they are very passionate about improving the hotel. There is a good bar and pub-grub/pizza restaurant on site. After a long hot day the owner was willing to make my dad some food just minutes before he closed the kitchen. Much appreciated. It's a lovely old building full of period features and a large beer garden. The bedrooms are tastefully decorated with vintage furniture. The bed was comfy and the bathroom facilities small but functional and clean. We had a quiet fridge and with 2 bottles of water provided which were much needed as it was a very hot weekend. The coffee/tea tray included some plant based milk, never seen that before and a nice touch. The owner had opened the windows and put a fan on to help cool the room before we arrived. The curtains would be blackout when closed but we slept with the the curtains and window open because of the heat. Loads of parking. All the staff we met were amazing.
Road noise on Friday night but we slept with the windows opens because it was so hot. It was fine with the windows closed.

Comfortable and quiet stay at an interesting character property. Handy for events at The Mead Hall.
Comfortable and peaceful stay in an interesting older building. Welcome was warm and efficient on arrival. Plentiful free parking. We had R4 (Executive Twin/Double), and the firmer 6' Superking bed was very comfortable, room a good size with airy double height ceiling. Tower fan provided for warmer weather. Little road/traffic noise noticed during stay. We were attending a musical event at 'The Mead Hall', just around 7 mins walk away, so was very convenient for this purpose. Guests should also be aware that *no breakfasts are available at the property* (we knew this prior to arrival, so not an issue): we simply drove a few minutes up the road to The Mulberry Cafe at The Radway Bridge Garden Centre - which offers a decent selection of cooked breakfast options.
Nice modern en-suite bathroom, but the hot water appeared to run out before one of our party could shower in the morning. Water pressure also slowed to a frigid trickle. Guessed that plumbing unable to cope with simultaneous guest baths/showers being run? Since we had somewhere to be, we were unable to wait to try later, which was a pity. Just unlucky with timing, we suppose. Tip: Shower early?

Only stayed 1 night so not really a candidate to assess
Room and staff were great. Quirky hotel.
Cant say i disliked anything. There are obvious improvements that need addressing but apart from that it was great

Well placed and convenient and comfortable.
The dragon outside my window.
The shower.
Breakfast was OK - ordered the night before and brought to room. It would have been better to have a choice of cereal and yohgury flavour.
The microphone for the quiz in the bar was much too loud. Audible from my room, and horrible if you were actually in the bar.

Lovely old building loads of character.. friendly manager, a very comfortable stopover.
No food facilities but we did know and were told takeaways could be delivered. Gardens could be improved

Quirky property, very clean, beautiful view.
Big, clean room with great facilities and a wonderful view. Proper fridge in the room. Although there are no refreshments at all available they did offer to put basic supplies for a continental breakfast in the fridge in our room for a charge of £6 ph.
It was a bit odd that there were no staff on the premises overnight. We wondered what would happen in an emergency and it was a bit unsettling hearing cars come and go and the front door opening and shutting throughout the night.
We knew in advance that there was no breakfast, but it wasn't clear until we arrived that we couldn't get an evening meal, despite being advertised as a pub/restaurant.
Our bed looked very fancy indeed (four poster) but was quite ricketty and noisy. We would have preferred a modern bed and a better night's sleep.

Lovely location, friendly staff, comfortable bed. A bit pricy for me.
It is a lovely building, my room was bright, airy and comfortable. The staff are friendly. The small fridge in the bedroom was useful as there was no food available (which was clearly stated when booking). Some fun quirky features. Location peaceful. Nice biscuits and selection of instant hot drinks.
Some furniture a bit tired and grubby (chair upholstery very stained). Old, single glazed sash window rattled all night!!!

Quirky Hotel
This is about the 4th time I’ve stayed here and so far 3 different people running the hotel , unfortunately no food on offer but they did allow me to buy fish and chips and eat them inside . The bar is usually friendly obviously popular with the locals . Room was a nice size but quite pricey …. The fish and chip shop down the road was about the worst I’ve ever visited . There was more oil and grease in the wrapped fish than fish itself

Wonderfully surprising venue.
The building was absolutely wonderful. Gothic former house of local rich tile manufacturer with some of the original tiles in the building. Very welcoming staff and great atmosphere in the bar and restaurant area. The weather was perfect and the beer garden was terrific. Lovely quiet location.
The fabric of the building needs some TLC. Window frames paint work is flaking and there is evidence of a leak on the bar ceiling.

Relaxing loveky stsy , we will be back
Friendly and easy check in , lovely large , clean and modern rooms in a beautiful old building . So close to Hereford and Ledbury but in the middle of the countryside.
