Unique, great place and great value.

Personal and friendly service by a family run business that occupies part of the castle property. Only 8 rooms but all have air conditioning and very modern bathrooms with walk-in showers. Very quiet environment and somewhat off the beaten track but a one-off gem. Restaurant offers a sensible menu. Depending on the situation, guests may be offered the opportunity to visit the inside of the castle which is a lovingly preserved multi roomed museum and a unique unmissable experience.

Carparking is fifty or hundred meters away from the hotel which is not a problem if its not raining. Also, the pebble pathways might be challenging for heavy roller suitcases.

I booked it for just a day. Felt it was bit short. It would have been better if 1 was 2 days. They could install 1 electric charger for the guests.

A very pleasant location but car or bike required for travelling further afield

The setting is lovely although a little hard to find the entrance in the dark due to the late hour of our arrival. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast and coffee is good. The grounds of the castle are lovely.

ours were unusual circumstances due to delays at the Channel Tunnel. Instructions were given for arrival after the staff had left. However, a map of the castle would have been helpful as the points to look out for given in the instructions were difficult to find in the rain and dark. Not meant as a criticism but a possible aid for future visitors.

Average rooms, overpriced & inattentive restaurant staff- not worth

Castle is nice to look at, but don’t have to stay there to look at it.

Staff is not friendly. We asked if dinner reservation could be 15mins later @8pm, refused saying it would be too late. Not at all flexible. At dinner the lady taking order was forgetful & not carrying notepad to write orders- so they ended up giving order without details we asked like no vegetables, removed salad leaves etc. restaurant is also not vegetarian friendly, 2 dishes on menu only, risotto and couscous, I requested something if chef can make plain pasta with olive oil, was totally crap. Starter was like 2 peas on a plate for 12euro. Only 2starter and 2main(both of which were wrong delivered) and 3beers cost 100 euro. Totally overpriced, restaurant hostess hard of hearing or just does not care enough to serve what people order. Would not recommend to stay.

Our room was really nice. The castle in general is also really beautiful.

My wife had a birthday, that’s why we decided to stay in this hotel. We were here last year and we wanted to enjoy the nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, the staff is really unfriendly. Firstly, I had an impression, that they don’t know how to smile. Secondly, in the morning before breakfast I asked the staff if I can buy a cake there and to present it during the breakfast to my wife. He told me, that they don’t have anything. I asked if I can buy it and bring it - he told me „no problem“. So I went to the supermarket and bought a cake. After the breakfast the charged 6 euros, because I brought a cake from the supermarket. And the staff told me, that they have a cake. I don’t mind to pay 6 euros, but EXCUSE ME, I asked everything before. And she also doesn’t know how to smile. It is surely that we will never come back here.

Rustige ligging

Ontbijt was heel simpel , geen vers gesneden fruit , alleen hard gekookt eitje ,maar geen spek of een of ander warm soort ei! Het zou een luxe kamer zijn met terras en uitkijk op de kasteeltuin die we hadden volgens Booking maar niets van aan ! Geen restaurant meer,zoals op de site staat . Het dorp zelf valt niets te beleven . Niets van waar je nog naartoe kan ‘s avonds om gezellig iets te gaan drinken. Er is een restaurant waar je naartoe kan ,maar niet voor alle dagen daar het wel kostelijk is. Maar wel heel lekker!

Sehr gute Gastfreundlichkeit, in einem historischen Gebäude, für kurze Übernachtung bestens geeignet

Besonders gefallen hat uns die Lage, sowie die Beratung beziehungsweise Betreuung beim Frühstück. Die Betten waren komfortabel, und das Bad war modern ausgestattet. Zu dem gab es eine ausführliche Einweisung zu Bedienung der Klimaanlage.

Es gab keine Möglichkeit, sich mit vier Personen zusammen zu setzen und gegebenfalls etwas zu spielen. Es wurden Gemeinschafts Spiele angeboten, beziehungsweise Lagen aus, aber der Gastraum war abgeschlossen.

Die Lage ist klasse, nur 10min von Roermond City entfernt, Ruhig gelegen, Nettes Ambiente , Sehr gutes Restaurant fussläufig zu erreichen. Frühstück gut, PersonalKlasse. Heizung super.

ein bisschen Mehr Auswahl beim Buffet(Rührei oder ähnliches wäre schön gewesen. Aber sehr gute Qualität des Essens.

Prima verblijf op mooie locatie.

De locatie is erg mooi, bij aanrijden is het alsof je een stukje geschiedenis inrijdt. Sfeervol ingericht met verwijzingen naar het verleden van het kasteel en de omgeving. Ontbijt voldoende keuze en goed verzorgd, vriendelijk ontvangen en lekkere koffie.

Kamer was gehorig, niet enorm storend, wel aanwezig. De airco op onze kamer maakte veel lawaai, ook in de nacht, wat de nachtrust niet ten goede kwam. Dit ook aangegeven de ochtend nadien, reactie was dat hier al eens iemand naar gekeken heeft. Bij aankomst was het erg onduidelijk waar we ons moesten melden, dit opgelost door te bellen waar we moesten zijn.

de locatie was goed met vriendelijk ontvangst . in de kamer was het redelijk goed ,maar er was een deels reuk van afvoer bij het gebruiken van de badkamer. Ontbijt was goed maar er had iets meer keuze mogen zijn en het brood was op en er werd geen ander klaar gelegd. anders zeer vriendelijke mensen.

het ontbijt kon beter met iets meer keuze en aanvulling.

Super mooie locatie, mooi gebouw

Onze kamer leek niet gestofzuigd. We merkten dit aan onze sokken en handdoeken op de grond. Mooi verzorgd ontbijt, super vriendelijk! (Meer licht in de badkamer had handig geweest.)

In Haelen is er niet veel, geen cafe of brasserie, je bent verplicht om de auto te nemen en U te verplaatsen om iets te gaan drinken of te gaan eten.
