嚨口秘境古厝民宿Longkou Mysterious Resort

The host, Ellen, grew up on the island, she is super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The whole lodge was completely remodeled (and well maintained) from the traditional family estate. The original architecture is kept to give you some feeling how people lived on the island many, many years ago. A washer is available in the common area, and the washed clothes are dried in the "old fashion" way. The beach is only 5-minute walk from the lodge, you can see the oyster farms as well as the abandoned concrete fortification built during the war against China. Although the lodge is in the countryside, a bit remote from the downtown area, we would rather trade the convenience and noise for its beauty and tranquility. There is also a bus stop next to the lodge that you can take to downtown. Almost forgot to mention that Ellen provides delicious traditional breakfast every morning.
