About this farm stay rental
Enjoy the Catskills at our charming 19th century
farmhouse which combines the best of the old and new. Relax by a wood-burning stove or outdoors in the sauna or hot tub, or by the fire pit. A secluded location but only 5 min. to Hunter or Tannersville.
The house is old, built in 1894 and has characteristically small bedrooms and low ceilings but the furnishing are comfortable and meticulously maintained. The artwork is by local artists. Downstairs is the master bedroom with a king bed and full bathroom ensuite, as well as a second full bathroom and laundry room. Upstairs are 3 bedrooms with queen beds, and one bedroom has a half bathroom The modern kitchen has an electric glass top stove and is well-equipped for cooking the simplest to the most elaborate meal.
Adjoining the house is an outdoor deck with a picnic table, hot tub and sauna. On the lawn is a hammock and fire pit
Heating is managed by a NEST unit. In the summer there are air conditioning units in the main downstairs area and master bedrooms, all the other rooms have fans.
An EV charger available on the side of the house.
Guests have the house to themselves and full access to the 5 acre property grounds except for the garage and barn. There is an open lawn area for games in front of the house and a small footbridge which accesses woodland at the back of the property. Beyond that is the vast private Onteora Park.
We sometimes stay in a cottage at the back of the property but you still have privacy.
2027 Ski Season. In the New Year the house will be available from Jan 4, 2027 until the end of the Hunter Ski Season. We are looking for someone who will take it for this period. Open to negotiation.

Owner was very communicative and helpful. The property was exactly as described and pictured. Great location for Hunter and Windham ski season. The property is quiet and peaceful, a short drive to a variety of great restaurants. We enjoyed the well equipped kitchen, cozy living room and especially the hot tub after a day on the slopes.

We loved staying at this old farmhouse. It felt like home. Lots of quirkiness and charm and fun artwork. There were 7 of us staying for the weekend (two couples, two teens and my mother) and we had local family come visit for a PreThanksgiving dinner. Were able to fit 11 of us around the table. The house was well stocked and the host was communicative and helpful. The stairs to the upstairs bedroom are steep so we had my mother take the downstairs bedroom due to her knee issues. The fireplace, firepit and hot tub were all great amenities. The house is stocked with many books and games and lawn toys and several puzzles that our teens put together. Supermarket and gas station are close by and the shops of Tannersville are less than 5 minutes away. The house is set way back from the road so it is very private. Beds were all comfortable. Would definitely book here again!

This is a wonderful place to get away. It's a quiet peaceful property with lots of open space and for little walks behind the house. It's close to town and near many hikes.The owner was very accessible and helpful with tips on what to do and helping when I had some car trouble.
