Our stay at Al Vecchio Pioppo was fantastic! On our first night, our host Gaetano gave us great recommendations and even made a reservation for us at a local restaurant, which was amazing. The second night, he and his wife, Antonella, cooked us a wonderful Italian dinner with ingredients from their garden. Each morning, we enjoyed a typical Italian breakfast with filled croissants and coffee.
We absolutely loved the location of Al Vecchio Pioppo, right in the heart of the town, which made it super convenient to explore. However, because it’s so central, there’s music in the plaza until about 1 am, which can be a bit loud if you’re an early sleeper. Just something to keep in mind if you plan on turning in early.

We had a difficult experience at another property and had to leave before our booking was finished late in the evening and Gaetano at Al Vecchio Pioppo assured us it was OK to arrive late with our last minute booking.
He and his lovely daughter met us outside the BnB and welcomed us in, showing us around and getting us settled with heated rooms (important in Italy in January). The beds were super comfy and in the morning we came down to a beautiful breakfast room renovated and decorated by Gaetano himself, with a real flame heater next to our table for warmth and atmosphere.
The welcome.from.this family was exceptional, Antonella, Gaetanos wife arrived and all 4 of us hiked up to the Grotto and church behind the premises. After this, Antonella cooked us the most sumptuous lunch with wine (extra charge for lunch but we'll worth it) which had me documenting recipes and undoing my top button 😄🫣
The welcome and help and friendliness continued and we were very sad to leave. I wish all www.booking.com experiences could be like this!
