Hotel El Colibri Rojo - Le Colibri Rouge

Nice place that was easy to access.

Noisy. Lots of noise from the highway and no insulation of doors nor walls.

Stayed 2 adults and 2 teens. Kids enjoyed the hammocks outside the room and the bbq was great to use during our stay. We had a room with a very large shower and toilet and the aircon was great. We used the communal kitchen quite a few times plus the larger fridge freezer which was bigger than the one in our room - this was great particularly as the location is out of town allowed us to prepare breakfast lunch and dinner. No fault of the property but a few guests weren’t as clean tidying up their dishes or sink after use which we often had to do before using the kitchen. Compared to other areas of Costa Rica, this area is more expensive so this property was reasonable compared to others. Happy with our stay.

Slightly further out of town than had anticipated but on a positive Ubers were readily available and well located to entry to national park that we could walk to

Friendly staff. Thanks to Perrine and her team for their kindness. She provided assistance with booking our activities. The hotel is also conveniently located near a coastal trail, where access to the park is available for a donation. Will recommend.

the kitchen is new and very well equipped and you literally can cook everything there; hosts are friendly; good price for laundry;

all good if it’s priced correctly, in my opinion it wasn’t; we stayed in much better properties in Costa Rica for much lower price; the rooms are very small and definitely not a value for money, wouldn’t pay more than 30 USD per night; I wouldn’t advice to stay in the property without a car as the logistics to the stores and town is different; overall there is no value in staying in this location at all, it’s better to go to Puerto Viejo and travel to Cahuita national park (which is lovely) from there;
