旅館のスタッフが温かかった

老舗ならではの雰囲気を感じることができ、ゆったりとした時間を過ごすことができました(ホテルや新しい旅館には無いものだと思います)。 朝夕の食事も美味しく、大変満足いたしました。

the bus stop that runs more regularly is a little far. there is a bus near the inn but it stops very early in the day

Communication in English even very basic things like where to have dinner is very difficult. The listing on Booking.com gives the impression there is dinner available but there was not for us. and it was difficult to find somewhere to eat in this very small and run down village. There are a lot of big abandoned hotels. There was one restaurant open until 8 pm 10 mins walk away in dark streets. Sad looking area. The area of this place is about 15 mins back to the train station by car. Taxi cost yen 3000. Website mentions a shuttle so we requested to be picked up at the station on arrival and after waiting a while an older lady arrived in a tiny car. Let’s just say it was a very scary ride back as she seemed to not be a very competent driver. Thats why we got a taxi next morning. If you have come off the Alpine route better to get the train on to Matsumoto for the night. Just one hour from Omachi. Its a shame that we did not enjoy our stay here due to a few issues. They seem much more set up for local tourists as food was provided for them. We were told we could have breakfast so we thought it was included as they did not mention a cost - but when we came to check out they charged us 1800 yen each.
