This please is a hidden gem with stunning views and a beautiful walk just behind the house. There was everything needed for 6 of us with lots of space. We loved the open fire and spending time as a family in the evenings after venturing out each day. Bedrooms were huge. The outdoor area would be fab in summer.
Anything we did not like we mentioned and it was dealt with straight away. The rooms were very cold at night but take appropriate clothing for winter. It’s a very old rustic place, some things could do with updating but it would not put us off staying here again.

Location
The accommodation was very small freezing cold, the radiator in the bedroom did not work.
The accommodation smelt of damp the decor was very old-fashioned, and the furniture was old and in desperate need of repair the couch was old and dirty the owner had throw a old tablecloth of it to hide it. You could hear every word and movement from the people in adjoining property. The decking was slippy and rotting away it was dangerous.

Stunning location . Friendly hosts. Great for dog.
Property very ‘lived in’ and some fixtures and furnishings could do with replacing. This would not prevent me staying again though.

The views, wow! Amazing. Really comfy beds. Log fire 🔥, great size rooms.
In need of some TLC but reflected in the price. Perfect for what we wanted.

View was amazing! Great value for money.
Huge bathroom with an amazing shower
Could do with some more signs to help find it.
We arrived at 10pm and it was quite committing to drive up the lane in the dark, and didn't find a sign for the snug until we were very close.
(the hosts had helpfully provided directions but a few more signs when you get really close would be helpful!)

Spacious family bedroom and bathroom offering lovely views , great location ideal for walkers, gateway to the hills, footpaths very close by.
The Snug is a partition of the main house and has a joining doors, the bedroom is directly over another holiday let so not ideal for a solo traveller.I was disturbed by several guests arriving after 10pm.

very poor condition of many interior fixtures, fittings and appliances. Many were old, curtains rails falling down, drawers collapsing. Disappointing.

Stunning location. Great views. Peace and tranquility.
The property is tired, which we expected from previous reviews, and the kitchen was not very well equipped if you wanted to cook for a family all week, but if you are a couple, or eating out it was fine.

The view, bedroom and bathroom
Where do I start ? 2 hours after arrival ----at 6pm--we couldn't work the TV. Written instructions from owner --useless. Tried phoning --no signal. Walked down to his house to report ---" I finish work at 5pm' he barked. Not even a welcome I said we only needed tv to be tuned in. Refused saying " If you don't like it you can clear off now and I'll give your money back" Another time he shouted at my 86 year old husband " Get off my land or my dog will get you." Not mentioned in the advert --were the 10 or 12 wide steps leading up to the property with no hand rails Impossible for the infirm I could go on but please_____ read reviews on Trip Adviser. This property should be banned from your books

Called the Snug downstairs lived up to its name. The weather was glorious and we were able to use the terrace. Upstairs was much better than we expected. The bedroom was amazing and the bathroom had both a double shower and a bath.
The owner visited us on the Saturday morning and was extremely friendly.
Wouldn't hesitate to go back.
If we were being picky we could say a larger downstairs room, however, because the weather was so glorious we were able to use the outside space.

Very quirky building large enough for our trip, bedrooms large
Great location very peaceful and great scenic views
Very steep hill up to the house Unfortunately one of the party was not 100% mobile and location had lots of outside steps to and from the car park with no hand rail. When the stone steps were wet it was unnerving

Property location was excellent. Bedroom and bathroom were massive in comparison to down stairs
The driveway was uneven and rough ground

The bedroom and bathroom upstairs are lovely, clean spacious rooms. Nice views from the window.
The property looks very run down and is not very welcoming. The timber decking outside is partially rotten with corroded screws sticking out. Weeds growing around the door of the property with the area at the side windows significantly overgrown. Dead leaves and other debris at the front door shows the place has not been swept for some time. Patio furniture was in poor condition. Small details, such as peeling paint on the door and window frames, the doormat in two pieces, rusty / missing screws in the door handle, do not give a positive first impesssion of the property.

The best thing about this property was the amazing location - you wake up to the sounds of birds and sheep and see green valley before your eyes.
It’s a bit old fashioned but we loved it anyways.

Beautiful location and lovely cottage with great garden.
Beds were comfy and the annex has everything you need.
Had a small issue with heating but was very quickly sorted! It was too hot if there is such a thing!

Fantastic location, views and mountain air was fabulous. The hill up was extremely steep, but it was an adventure!
It was perfect for our needs, lots of room, great setting, being able to sit outside was Lovley.
Could do with a bit of maintenance, but we had a great time and could come again. Loved the surrounding area and the hosts and neighbors were very friendly

Location was stunning from the bedroom.thats it
The main drive loose stone and gravel . Very limited parking had to walk up loose stone and a steep drive to the steps with no hand rail . My wife had lot long had a new hip.it was horrible for her. The main room was rammed with so much furniture you couldn't move .also there is door which is locked in the room which god into next doors house and one up stairs. The bedroom.was lovely but it went over the kitchen next door so when you was in bed and they in kitchen it was horrendous . We had to wear ear plugs to sleep . They was a mouse in the bathroom which my dog was going mental. And under the stairs they was a mouse trap loaded with food ready Will never stay in this house again even if it was free. The access to it and the design of it . Sorry for these remarks. But the host need to start listening. The reviews are not the best . Would I recommend this place no !!!!!!. Not at moment

The location is simply stunning! I could wake up to those views every morning and not get bored. A lovely property with plenty of character, perfect for our family gathering! We had use of the house and the annexe and had plenty of room. The hosts are fantastic and very welcoming, will definitely book again.

Lovely views from the kitchen window. Very nice walk over the hill to Horseshoe falls, the canal and into Llangollen.
Unfortunate location for us as I thought it was in Llangollen, it's 2.5 miles up the hill but there is no pavement so not safe to walk. The slate steps up to the property are precarious. The bathroom and second bedroom are accessed through the double bedroom, so not a good arrangement for us as we were two couples. The kitchen/sitting room has an odd layout, the large sofa is not fit for purpose, it is too uncomfortable to sit on. A few things were broken; there are two shower heads in the shower, one is broken, one is leaking. The food shelf in the fridge is broken. We struggled to operate the kitchen blinds. Shouldn't moan about this but we hurried back to watch the rugby game but the TV did not have ITV.

Amazing little hidden gem stumbled across it a few years back and have stayed every year since the hosts are really helpful and the house itself is beautiful, we really enjoyed the roll top bath the beds are really clean and comfortable the fireplace is to die for and the views are breathtaking. Would highly recommend!

close to Llangollen . plenty of space . warm
The duvets on the beds were a bit thin . The Tin opener was old and didn’t work . We couldn’t park in the allotted space as someone from another cottage was parked in it .
