Alvi

The location is excellent — right in the city centre and just a few minutes’ walk from lots of restaurants, cafés and bars. For €180 for three nights, I think the value for money was very reasonable. The single room is very simple and quite small, but it had everything I needed: a private bathroom, wardrobe, desk, air conditioning and Wi-Fi, which worked well throughout my stay. Everything was clean and pleasant, and I had no issues with cleanliness. One important thing to know is that check-in takes place at a different hotel, as mentioned in previous reviews. I’ve added photos of the hotel where you need to go first. After receiving the key card, you enter the code using the black keypad by the entrance door of the actual property. This wasn’t immediately obvious to me, so hopefully this helps future guests.

The main downside was the poor soundproofing. On my first night, from Saturday to Sunday, the property seemed quite full and I could hear a lot of noise from other guests, which woke me up several times. The following night was much quieter and I slept without any problems. The bed was also not especially comfortable for me. The mattress felt quite firm and old-fashioned, with springs, and there was a wool-style blanket rather than a proper duvet, which is not my personal preference. The room itself is also very small and basic — almost like a little monastic cell — but considering the central location and the price, I think it was still fair value.

Location is great

It was dirty there, the bed was made of boards and sticks, from 9 am the cleaning lady in the hallway was very noisy and knocking on the door, even though our check-out was at 12.
