We stayed at Hotel Arcadia (4 stars), which is the sister hotel of Arena (5 stars). While both are beautifully located just a few steps from the beach — a truly perfect location — and the cleanliness deserves a 10/10, there are some aspects that could be improved. Only one of the three restaurants listed on Booking was actually open during our stay (Colonial Bar & Restaurant, located between the two hotels). Luckily, that one was excellent: delicious food, fair prices, great service, and friendly staff — definitely deserves high praise! The room at Arcadia was spacious and clean, but surprisingly, there was no iron available — quite inconvenient for a 4-star hotel when you want to prepare for a night out. At Arena’s pool (5-star hotel), there's no handrail to help you get into the water, which can be difficult or unsafe for some guests. Breakfast is generous and varied, with many options (fruits, pastries, hot dishes), but unfortunately, the hot food was often cold — fried eggs and mozzarella sticks should not be served cold. Also, jam was served in large bowls instead of single-serving containers, which felt a bit unrefined for a 5-star setting. On the private beach, sunbeds are nicely spaced and free for hotel guests (otherwise 50 RON), but there are no showers or toilets available. Only one beach bar exists, and it offers drinks only. On our last day, we discovered two water taps behind the guard cabin near the hotel entrance, where you can rinse your feet before entering — but nothing directly on the beach. The AC in the room was very noisy.
