And as with most cheaper accomodation in Brittain, Brits don't believe in replacement of items beyond it's economic, never mind physical lifespan.
At least there were clean sheets and
the location next to British Museum is good.

This was misadvertised. This was really gross and falling apart. I felt very unsafe the whole time . I’m pretty easy going with travel accommodations, but I felt very high alert the whole time I was there. I would never stay there again.

I’ve stayed in low budget hotels before so my expectations aren’t high when booking a single room with shared bathroom. I expect the property to be dated (and much it was) with furniture, carpets and general decor to be shabby (which they were) but I do expect the property to be clean. I will say the bedsheets were clean but everything else was horrific. The solo room was very basic with wash basin, small desk, bedside cabinet and wardrobe. ONE DOUBLE PLUG SOCKET. Everything looked filthy full of dust and the curtain was half hanging off the window. The shared toilet was horrific . The ceiling tiles were off, some of the lights weren’t working and it was dusty, full of cobwebs and there were loads of little flies everywhere. I tried to avoid like the plague and used McDonalds round the corner wherever possible. The shared shower was a tiny room on a different floor behind reception there wasn’t room to chqnge in there without getting everything wet but you had to change in there as you had to walk through the reception to get back to the room. The guy in reception was lovely and location fabulous but the actual facilities really were horrendous and I’d recommend paying a bit more and going elsewhere. Surprised a property of this extremely low standard is even promoted on Agoda. It doesn’t reflect well. I travel regularly and have booked lots of hotels through Agoda previously but this has really put me off as the description on website is not really reflective of the actual property. If I could give cleanliness and facilities minus 100 stars I would!!
