The location was really nice with a view of the river. It was close to the city centre, Durham Cathedral, shopping, and really good restaurants. Reception went overboard to make us feel comfortable. They were very helpful, and even made sure we had the same taxi driver when we went out. Breakfast was good, but a bit overpriced with no options that we were aware of. Yes, another trip to Durham would find us returning to Royal County.
The room was not serviced the four nights we were there. I had to ask for creamer and coffee. Also one of the waitstaff was a bit rude one morning at breakfast. Minor issues, but still a retraction.
