Too many negative issues far outweighed the good location. Staff in hotel were very helpful, but Sonder automation concept aimed at replacing staff is not working, resulting in a terrible service.

I recently stayed at NUMA London Chelsea Green during my first trip to London. The location is excellent — Chelsea is a lovely area, with good access to public transport, restaurants and shops, and the hotel itself is modern and well presented.
Unfortunately, my overall experience was disappointing, mainly due to issues with the room, the cleanliness of the common areas and the lack of on-site assistance.
The air conditioning in my original room was not working properly, which resulted in me having to move rooms during my stay. This was particularly inconvenient as I was in London for a conference and had a very busy schedule. There were also smaller issues, such as the TV remote not working correctly.
The cleanliness of the common areas also needs significant improvement. These areas were visibly dirty and did not feel properly maintained, which was disappointing and detracted from the overall impression of the property.
One of the biggest frustrations is the very limited on-site service. The NUMA concept relies heavily on digital/WhatsApp communication, which may work well when everything goes smoothly, but when you have a problem with your room or need assistance with luggage, it can become frustrating. As a guest travelling with luggage and needing to leave early for meetings, I expected a little more practical support.
The team did communicate with me and tried to resolve the issues, which I appreciated, but I feel the overall guest experience could be improved considerably — especially when something goes wrong. Greater attention to cleanliness in the common areas and more reliable on-site support would make a significant difference.
The location and property itself have a lot going for them, but based on my experience, I would personally prefer accommodation with more reliable on-site guest support and better-maintained common areas when visiting London again.
