Casa Ribeira Sacra Portomarin

From the outside the house did not give a good feeling but we had the triple bedroom and it was very good. It was well decorated, nice beds,, good bathroom. The gentleman at the reception was very kind and explained us what we were to expect the day after for our walk. There is a landry mat just outside the accommodation. Well situated close by the main square

After a whole day of uphill and downhill, we arrived in Portomarin. A very steep ascent to the city, only to find out the accommodation was at the end of the village on another very steep hill.

While the property isn't the most modern in town from a looks perspective and may have aged a little since the booking.com photo, it is incredibly clean, and perched high in the town to offer some beautiful views over the town and valley beyond. The beds were comfortable, the room had everything needed for a Camino stopover and the hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful. Cold water offered on arrival, a fan in the room, and soap in the bathroom. The rooms are well maintained and fitted out nicely. The property was also very quiet and walls seemed more sound proof than modern buildings offer. We were on level 2 and there are only stairs, not a concern with a backpack however it may be a little trickier to navigate for those who travel with a suitcase.

The owner was so kind and welcoming. It was like being welcomed by family. The room was clean and comfortable and the location was super accessible to town.

Located on the route of the Camino de Santiago. Good for a one-night rest. Very nice staff, pleasant and willing to help.
