Hotel Srdiečko

The hotel is right below Chopok at 1200m hight with very nice views. You can do a lot of hiking, skiing etc from it: Chopok, Dumbier etc. Kriván starting point is ~1hr away. Banska Bystrica is also 1hr. The food is great, the staff is very kind and helpful. Wellnesss is also great to relax: 2 whirlpools, 1 finn sauna, 1 infra-sauna and a steam bath. Of course, if the hotel is full, the jacuzzis tend to be ocupied, but you can always find your time and slot. If you stay longer (1 week?), you get perks with GoPass: free entries to Tatralandia and Besenova water parks (1hr drive each) and free cable cars in the low Tatras and High Tatras.

If I have to say one slight negative: the room was a bit smaller then expected, but as we spent not too much time in it, it was OK (remember this is a converted older mountain hut). Otherwise the room was convenient and comfortable.

Nice, clean, comforable in the middle of nature. Staff was fantastic. All of them - from the reception desk to the restaurant and bar. Meals in the restaurant were tasty and breakfadt was top notch.

My apartment was nice and clean but it was not cozy.

The breakfast is simple but plenty enough to have a proper selection. The rooms are great, the staff is friendly and helpful. The spa part is amazing, the view from the hotel is stunning. If you stay here due to skiing, don't hesitate. If you plan to stay here during summertime for hiking, also great :)

The WiFi was somehow selected to work. Some of the webpages I used to check were working fast and OK but some was 100% not available. I don't know why.

Good choice of food, good coffee

There was a guy cutting wood under my window with a machine at times, which was noisy. I also think the hotel could do with AC for the communal areas which can get pretty hot in the summer. Also, the room windows could use nets.
