Colosshouse guest house

I just wanted a room for the night within walking distance of Rome Termini station, as I had a large suitcase and needed to catch the train to the airport the next day. The room was as you would expect, small and simple but that it was I expected from the stay. The staff were helpful with the check-in process, and provided basic amenities. It also came with free wifi.

Very clean & quiet. Location is great.

Clean; close to ALL forms of public transportation; close to attractions (short 20 min walk) but far enough from tourist crowds; host was very friendly

Communication with the host were not nice. 1. we were checking in and dropping off bags, we have another friend with us. The older guy who check us in did not speak English well but me managed to communicate. He said it’s only two who can stay, I said yes and explain that the other person is a friend who is going to the airport and we are here to just drop off bags. I thought it was cleared up until I received a long text from the English speaking host lecturing us that only two people are registered and we cannot have 3 people there. To then I replied, yes understood, we are only 2 people staying. Then he sent another long lecture message saying as far as that the police can come and do checks on this. I called him, clarified, then all good again. 2. a day before check out, I asked about the possibility of late check out until 4pm as we need a space to work. I expect a simple yes/no answer together with the info on the cost if the late check out is possible. I received a very late reply to just inform me the checkout time. I thanked him for the info and repeated my question. Again after waiting for sometime, he repeated the same info and added there that there MIGHT be a new check in so NO, check out late is not possible. We tried to call so we can clarify this but he didn’t pick up the call but again we received a long lecture message soon after, about how a booking time is agreed and that there’s a certain time of check in and check out and soon and soon + “otherwise we have to pay for a half day”. This was the info that we wanted all along, if the room is available for late check out and how much. But by this time, we already did not like the experience and let it go and do our work elsewhere.
