Ammata Lanta Resort

Brilliant location- so close to airport. Room (pool suite) was exceptionally spacious. Great view over pond from lounge area and outdoor lounges/pool. Unbelievable service. The staff here went over and above. Breakfast is varied and they cater to individual needs. Being close to the airport the planes fly overhead. This is not a issue inside due to soundproofing and gives incredible plane spotting from outdoor lounges and pool.

The Booking.com information misrepresented this property. Payment was easy (cash or credit card options) despite Booking.com stating it was "Cash Only". Breakfast was included in room rate - Booking.com doesn't mention this.

The staff were really nice and helpful and the lake was really nice to see at night. The room itself was really nice, with the pool.

The buffet could be better as it seemed a little bit cold and stale by the time we arrived. Ideally the buffet pot lids should have been shut in case more people come. Also had a problem with the rain leaking partially through the ceiling and through the windows. They quickly tidied it up, but when I asked to change rooms, apparently the same issue occurred with the other room. It was a rather a lot of rain, but considering where the water was leaking from I think it could have been avoided with some room maintenance. Hot water seemed to run out rather quickly, although it could be because it was rather late.

Bar was closed, there was an odd smell in reception & the villa when we first walked in, the whole place felt empty - there was no music or staff around the pool. The place felt a bit outdated.
