End of the year magic

Being close to the nature, sauna, the snow and the Christmas tree with string lights right by the house + the snow was cleaned regularly. The forest and the lake were magic and got to see the husky rides on the frozen lake passing by our house. A place to return. Not far from Kuusamo airport. Dog friendly. It is definitely a place for a longer stay.

It would be good if booked guests could be advised in advance of days when the restaurant will be closed. Also, as booking is requested at least a day before meals are required, it would be good if Booking.com could supply a telephone number.

what wasn’t there is like it was so nicely set out. There was a real fire and sauna. The surroundings.were magical with all the snow and beautiful sunsets on the lake.

We couldn't have asked for a better experience here! The cottage we stayed in had everything we needed, and was in an incredible location right on the lake. Our host was extremely kind and made our stay very special. We visited in mid-September and the autumn colors were stunning. We will definitely be back to this beautiful location to enjoy winter and summer activities.

Wonderful relaxing place to stay, but lots of wildlife interest short drives away.

Lake-edge location excellent. Well equipped cabin in woods, giving privacy from other cabins. Excellent home-cooked meals in restaurant, using local ingredients to produce traitional dishes. Very helpful owners.

Venturing out to bathroom (same veranda but different entrance) at night - OK when we were there but could be challenging in winter!

The landscape and environment were astounding. I even got to experiment a sauna with a roll in the snow. Absolute silence and peace at night, birds in the trees in the morning.

This was nobody's fault, and probably inevitable if you want to stay far from the madding crowd: the nearest city was twenty minutes' taxi away and I didn't trust myself with driving so far north. But, hey, this was exactly what I was paying for. Also, I could only cram a brief stay.

Just perfect.

Everything was great. We stayed at cottage #03, it was perfect. The place was clean, quiet, and the view was amazing. We made fire and it was very cosy. We rent snowshoes to walk on the frozen lake and it was beautiful. We had the best time. The restaurant was also great, breakfast and dinner were amazing. We also had the chance to see very quickly nothern lights from our cottage window.

We had a really relaxing and nice stay with a family! The staff is very friendly and location is amazing! We had a house nr5, right next to the lake! Would love to come back and stay longer with a whole family, maybe in summer, so we couls go swimming and use that cute grill area outside. Would recommend!

It's a self catering house, next to a lake. It includes an easy to use excellent sauna. The surroundings were just what you like in this finnish setting: woodland, lakes, tranquility.

Exceptional

By booking the stay, you don't reserve only the place to sleep, but the whole amazing Finnish experience. It was great to stay two nights in the forrest, in total silence, out of any community. We loved the house, the sauna, even the toilet outside was good experience. You can pick the mushrooms, swim in the lake or swim by your own boat. You can relax in sauna and next jump to the lake. There are no people around. Through the window we have seen the reindeers walking. The house is well eqiupped. The kitchen contains all utensils. The bedsheets and towels are additionaly paid. In the house there is shower, toilet is outside few meters from the house. I really wish we could come here again for 1-2 weeks.

The beds are too small for people higher than 1.9m. They match to the house's style, but could be changed for some more comfortable.

Fishing, Sauna, Lake, Reindeer - Place is I imagined how Finnland might be.

This was the best place we have stayed during our 4 weeks trip to Baltics and Finnland. Place on its own is worth a trip. you have a cottage in front of the lake, 300-500 meters forest. to you next neighbor. In the morning there are reindeer in front of you windows. When the weather was bad, we just spend the afternoon in the Sauna (fired by wood), cooling down in the lake. Fishing is good, the boat in front of the cottage. Water of the lake is not deep (15 meters until it reaches my hips) - safe for children to swim.

Traditional Finnish cabin by the lake

Lovely get away with a beautiful view over the lake. Sauna is very good classic cabin sauna, heated with wood, which are included in the package. Ski tracks are just outside the cabin. I loved most the “Avanto”, ie poasibility to dip into the icy lake.

The cabin were I stayed is very new. The extension to build indoor toilet has been postponed due Covid.

Sijainti oli aivan loistava ja mökki muutenkin oli sellainen kuin piti ja kelit sattui olemaan aivan loistavat joka päivä uitiin ja ranta oli erittäin hyvä kun oli matala ja hiekkapohjainen varsinkin kun 7- vuotias poika oli mukana.

Sijainti erinomainen, Täysi rauha vaikka mökkejä oli useampi, mutta välimatkaa riittävästi. Ranta aivan vieressä. Vesi niin puhdasta ja kirkasta kun olla voi, Saunassa sai hyvät löylyt! Oli nautinto uida ja saunoa ilta-auringon paisteessa helle-säässä.

Valitettavasti mökin tv oli rikki eikä sitä voinut katsoa. Nuotiopaikka missä paistoimme makkaraa oli täynnä muurahaisia, pesät olivat molemmin puolin mutta sellaista luonto on =) Sänky oli omaan makuun liian pehmeä, mutta niinkuin sanoin,se on makukysymys,

Rauhallinen saunamökki

Hyvä sijainti niemellä 20km Kuusamosta. Mökit niin harvassa, että yhtään naapuria ei näkynyt eikä kuulunut, eli tosi rauhallista. Mökki aivan rannassa, hyvä puulämmitteinen sauna mökin yhteydessä. Puut valmiiksi pilkottu ja kannettu. Matala ranta ja soutuvene käytössä. Lemmikeistä ei lisämaksua.

Hivenen alhainen lämpötila (19 - 20 astetta) mökissä näin vilukintulle. Villasukat siis mukaan.
