Jiufen HappyLand B&B

This is my second time returning to Jiufen and staying at this hotel, and the service remains as excellent as it was two years ago. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was delicious, nutritious, and beautifully presented. The location is perfect—just a 3-minute walk from the Taipei bus stop and another 3 minutes into the heart of the old town. We booked a sea-view room, and the scenery was stunning, ideal for enjoying hot tea while watching the sunset or sunrise. The bathroom was spotless and fully equipped. Before check-out, each guest received a Jiufen postcard, which was a really sweet touch. The price is highly reasonable given the prime location and quality of service.

The building doesn't have an elevator, which can be inconvenient if you have heavy luggage or mobility issues. However, during my first stay, I contacted them in advance, and the hotel was kind enough to arrange a room on the second floor and let us leave our large bags in the lobby. It seems the lack of elevators is a common issue across Jiufen, as all the hotels I checked during my first visit were the same. Also, the spacious seating area by the large window had a slight odor, possibly due to the drainage system, especially since I visited during the rainy season.
