Villa Oasis

A wonderful village location, tucked away down a lane, just a short walk to many tavernas and local shop and only a 15/20 minute walk to even more restaurants. We counted 9 in and around the village and managed to eat in 8 of them! All were fantastic and such friendly service too, we are big foodies and ate so well. The village still had an authentic feel and the surrounding countryside, which we also walked in a lot, was beautiful. We even walked to Phaistos Minoan palace from the villa, which was in a beautiful setting and well worth the visit and we walked to the ancient olive tree and the tomb of Tholos on the edge of Kamilari village. We also visited Matala, Agia Galini and many surrounding villages including those high up in the mountains. We love traditional properties and villa Oasis had lots of character. We particularly loved the pool area of the villa, as it was completely private and we appreciated the large number of different seating areas around the house. The bedding was gorgeous. So soft and fluffy, with quilts like marshmallows! The kitchen had everything we could possibly need and the living room well stocked with books, which we added to. Contact with Kostas of Cretan Villas was friendly and easy and he resolved an early blip with our stay as efficiently and quickly as he possibly could have done.

Only tiny maintenance issues, which we accepted in an older property.

Lovely village vibe. Easy location for beach and mountain drives whilst being just off the major tourist route.

Poor plumbing and hand-held showers.Sheets too small for the twin beds so they didn't tuck in and wrinkled up every night..
