    We chose this hotel for the good location (walking distance to most touristy spots near old quarter). our flight landed 1AM. We were able to check in around 3AM, yes they still have reception during this time, though they are sleeping in the lobby. I requested for a large bed, but they assigned us with twin beds. Since we're tired already, we settled in. Airconditioner is not working properly, good thing they have a fan in the room. We called it a night. Woke up around 6am by children shouting in the hallway. We realized that the only window in the room that is overlooking the stairs is open. Maybe that was the reason why room is not getting cold so I closed it off. We went down to eat breakfast. They have limited options, just okay food I guess to have enough energy to walk out to the nearest cafe. Went out to a tour until 4pm. We were tired, sweaty and dirty. We looked forward to a cold shower and change of clothes and hopefully a cooler room since I closed the window already. However when we arrived, our door is open, and 3-4 people are inside, fixing the airconditioner. NOBODY TOLD US THEY WILL GET INSIDE OUR ROOM WHILE WE WERE OUTSIDE. The non English speaker staff asked us to wait in the lobby. The receptionist explained that they are fixing the AC. I asked how long, they said 1hr. Our bags and personal belongings were out in the open inside our room. I had to close them and put them aside myself to prevent them from being dirtied or touched by the workers. We waited in the restaurant for more than 1 hour. The receptionist told us they don't have any available room they can transfer us to. We had no choice but to wait in the restaurant - dirty, sweaty, no sleep. Good thing they set a fan for us and gave us 1 bottle of water for free. I dont know how that is a fair compensation for the inconvenience. After 1.5hrs, I followed up if it's still not yet done. Receptionist told me it's still not finished. I demanded for a new room - suddenly there's one they can transfer us along with our belongings BUT we will only be allowed to stay there while workers work on our room and we have to get back to our room as soon as that's done. Talk about paying guests having to pay a full day rate and spend the day outside our room and wait for whenever they are ok to let us back in. The receptionist or any of the staff never apologized for this inconvenience. I had no choice but to extend patience as we still have 4 more days staying with them and I honestly don't know what else they can do to us and our things if I confronted them. After all, they were able to let workers get inside the room without even telling us. Talk about privacy being violated. STAY AWAY!
