The monks were friendly and welcoming to their space. The rooms & buildings were traditional & beautifully presented, combined with the calm atmosphere of the environment. Food, onsen & guided meditation were also fantastic. A beautiful experience

Staff was great. Room was beautifully appointed with wood accents. Private onsen was magical.
Not insist we be there before 7p. Felt rushed all day trying to get there from tokyo. Arriving before 8 or 9p would have been kinder.

In fairness the place was exactly as advertised, however the overall experience was not worth the money we paid for it.
No tour of the facility, no explanation of what/why/where, until just before breakfast, after which we had to check out. Welcome wasn't as friendly as expected, we felt a bit like intruders.
