    Don't let the Agoda pictures fool you—the reality at Pooma Resort is a major disappointment. ​Upon arrival, the staff openly admitted that Agoda clients are routinely placed in a completely separate annex across the road, tucked away in a quiet back alley, simply because they book the "cheapest rooms." ​To make matters worse, the swimming pool at this secondary site was completely empty. ​Although the room was clean, the decor felt prehistoric. For this price point, you can easily get a proper, modern hotel room in a major hub like Pattaya / Jomtien. Paying that same rate here for an old roadside annex with zero amenities makes absolutely no sense. ​Because we were out exploring most of the time, we managed fine. We only saw the main property briefly during check-in before being redirected, and honestly, even that building didn't look very appealing. ​They clearly inflate their rates just for being in a coastal town, but the reality is that most of the accommodations here in Chanthaburi are incredibly old and outdated.
