The room, everything

The hot springs... they weren't clean, the room was with cal and I don't know, it didn't feel clean

The location, the view, and the onsen. The staff/owners were also very kind and welcoming

The futons were quite uncomfortable especially as we are foreigners and I don't think we had set them up correctly. Some guidance would have been appreciated.

The owners or Maruyaso were absolutely lovely! Even though they didn’t speak English, they did their absolute best to show you around with google translate. It was also cool to stay in a more traditional ryokan room, even though I did not have the Fuji views a lot of reviews mention. The old house itself also had a lot of charm. Unfortunately I also found the room to be quite dirty. There were quite a few hairs on the floor, as well as in the bedding that I doubted had been washed. I had checked out the showers but they weren’t really private showers and also didn’t look too clean, the showers are next to an onsen that’s open 24 hours and it’s just an open space with a row of showerheads.
