Cluj Apartments

We stayed at Virgil Fulicea apartment and the location couldn’t possibly be better. It’s so central that noone could wish for better but at the same time it’s looking at an inner courtyard so you don’t get the noise of the nightlife. The interior of the apartment is super cool and stylish, there is AC and all the necessary appliances for a short(er) stay. We could also park in the courtyard and that was a very precious thing to do bc the city was very full otherwise and the car traffic was a nightmare so I am super glad we could keep the car safe close to us.

You really need a mosquito net on the big windows too, not just the bathroom one.

The lack of damp coursing is super evident, the damp in the atmosphere was almost overwhelming each time we entered the property. This was at the height of the summer drought, it isn't hard to imagine how unsanitary the apartment would be in the winter. Dehumidifier wasn't working on arrival since it was full and didn't have the capacity to deal with the volume over the two days we were there. Location not too apparent when booking since info jumbled up with owners other properties

Towels a bit small, nowhere to put washbag or clothes in bathroom otherwise all good.

Excellent Location: Very central on the Virgil fulicea street, situated right in a lively square next to plenty of great bars and restaurants. Space & Cleanliness: The flat is spacious with plenty of room, and it was overall clean when we arrived.

Accessibility & Info: The flat is on the second floor of a very old building with no lift. This really should be mentioned in the listing, as it’s quite challenging if you have heavy luggage or mobility issues. Security Concerns: The key system felt unsafe. After entering a passcode-locked door, the actual flat key is left in a material envelope stuck directly to the door. The neighboring flat uses the exact same system, leaving the keys highly visible to anyone walking past. Maintenance & Noise: The bathroom had a very strong, unpleasant odor due to old sewage. Also, there is an attic directly above the flat where birds get in—you can hear them quite loudly throughout the night. The overall maintenance could be better, as there are noticeable scratches on the doors, and we found towels left out to dry on a rack in one of the rooms. Intrusive Communication: A day before checkout, the management company messaged me twice on the Booking.com platform and then followed up on WhatsApp asking if I would be leaving early so they could coordinate cleaners. I found this quite rude and intrusive, considering I had paid for the room until 11:00 AM.
