Favorite Stay in Ireland

Greta was such a wonderful host with such a beautifully warm energy. Breakfast was delicious. This was the best black & white pudding I had on my entire trip in Ireland. I still dream of Greta's homemade scones. The location was conveniently located with both the train station and town very walkable.

Everything! It was a wonderful stay- the hospitality was incredible! Greta is so kind and caring, and cooks a fantastic breakfast with even better scones!! You can't beat the location either.

Fantastic place for a couple of nights' stay, super handy location, wonderful host!

The house was easy to find, room was lovely and had everything I needed, Greta was a wonderful host, so kind, generous and accommodating. House was toasty warm (being late October), and I was able to adjust the heating in my room to suit me. We had a nice chat at breakfast both mornings, and she makes the most delicious cherry scones! I appreciated all the little touches like a bottle of still water in my room, access to a fridge in the front hall, and a great selection of options for breakfast. Because the B&B is in a residential area, it's super quiet at night but still only a 12-minute walk to the town centre.

Nothing to complain about, Greta has thought of everything!

Great location

The inn was in a good location to walk to town to pubs , restaurants and shopping. Very small room, but ok for short stay. we were able to walk to tour bus to do the Ring of Kerry tour. Parking was right in front of the house. Very good breakfast

Absolutely perfect location! Everything was easy and comfortable.

Location was perfect- very short 5 min walk to town center. Short easy drive to sights. Host was wonderful. Room was comfy. They even had a small refrigerator in lobby for guest to use.

We were warmer than we like to be at night. We like to sleep with the room very cool. A fan would have been nice.

We had a clean comfortable en suite room; not very large but fine for three nights We loved the amazing Greta and her wonderful breakfasts. The proximity to Killarney town centre and the National Park means you can leave the car and walk everywhere.

Very comfortable, quiet rooms. An extremely friendly host that helped us with activities and restaurants. The B&B is very walkable to the city center. A great location for exploring Dingle peninsula and Ring of Kerry.

I haven’t been to a better B&B

This is how all B&Bs should be. The host, Greta, is wonderful - welcoming, sociable and generous. Breakfast is cooked fresh and a nice mix of options. The place is spotlessly clean, beds are comfortable, water is hot and towels are changed every day. The house is only 10min walk from the centre of town so it’s in a great location.

Wonderfully quiet, endlessly hospitable

Our host Greta was a wonderfully cheerful woman with a deep love of hospitality. Waking up to a lovely breakfast and cheerful tips on things to do around Killarney was a fantastic start to our adventure in Ireland. If we end up back in Killarney we would gladly stay with Greta again!

Wonderful in every way.

Perfectly located. So close to the centre but down a quiet peaceful street. Everything was immaculately clean. True Irish hospitality. Greta is an absolutely incredible host. Attentive, accommodating, kind and funny. She goes out of her way to make sure you have everything you need. The breakfast was delicious and she made sure to cater to any requests with pleasure. The entire breakfast experience was efficient and speedy so that you have ample time to set off for your day. Greta is the kind of human being you are sad to leave behind. A heart of gold who deserves the very best in life. So glad we chose to stay here. She even gifted me my favourite chocolates because it was my 40th birthday. And as I’m sure you’ve read from all of the other reviews, the sweet gesture of her homemade scones everyday with butter and jam was gratefully received. We don’t have a bad word to say about our stay here and highly recommend it to everyone. You will be made to feel at home. And Greta will make sure you are well fed each morning, ready for your adventures. Thank you so much to all the staff.

Greta was an absolute angel of a woman. So welcoming and kind and the entire house was so clean. Breakfast service was exceptional and Greta was very attentive to all the guests there. It's true what they say, her cherry scones are amazing but the rest of breakfast was delicious as well. Overall an amazing experience and I will stay here again if I ever find myself back in Killareny.

Gorgeous Greta

Algret House is a lovely Bed & Breakfast in Killarney. A 5-10 minute stroll from the centre of town which is full of Irish delights. From being met and welcomed by our host, the effervescent and ever so friendly Greta, we felt most comfortable and very much at home. Easy parking for a car is a bonus. The room space is reasonable but more importantly it is clean and tidy with a comfortable bed for sleeping. The ensuite is of reasonable size with all facilities working well. Coffee, tea and biscuits are available in the room while toiletries are also supplied. After a day out, our room was serviced including fresh towels, with minimum fuss. Breakfast was delicious including home made scones and a light or heavier meal as desired. Fruit for a light snack later, is also available. Overall a well run and inviting B&B accommodation.

A fabulous holiday in fabulous accommodation run by an owner who is an absolute gem.

Everything about this establishment is top notch. Greta, the owner, makes you feel like one of the family and nothing is too much trouble for her. The breakfast choices were plentiful and my wife, who is an expert on such things, rates Greta's home made scones as some of the best she's ever tasted. The room was the ideal size for a couple and was cleaned every day. The location of the property is on a quiet estate yet only a ten minute walk from the Town centre with it's numerous attractions including pubs, shops, restaurants and a delightful park.

Algret House has an excellent location in a quiet street but just a few minutes' walk from Killarney Town and from the Killarney National Park. Greta is a very friendly and helpful host. A very good continental breakfast was supplemented by a choice of cooked breakfast which was excellent. The room was comfortable and clean, with high-quality toiletries and attention to detail.
