The Victorian on Main

Breakfast was tasty and filling.

Some of the old doors have cracks so be sure to hang a towel on the door at night.

The breakfast both days were excellent! The innkeeper, Katherine(?), (I’m not good with names), was so nice and a pleasure to be around and talk with! The whole experience was great and I will definitely stay again on my next visit to Fairfield!

There was nothing I didn’t like - everything was great.

I cannot say enough good things about The Victorian on Main. We stayed in the Squirrel's Nest on the third floor. The room was clean and impeccably decorated. The queen bed is tucked away under a cupola, which is very nice for keeping you in the dark even when the sun rises at 6AM. The real joy of this location was the staff, though. Mrs. Kathleen is the innkeeper, and she was absolutely delightful. She was so happy to chat with our five year old girls, who fell in love with her immediately. At one point, they disappeared and were found reading a story with her. She really made our stay special, and if we're ever back in this neck of the woods, we are definitely staying here again. The breakfast was fantastic, too. Homemade syrup, french toast from scratch, two kinds of scrambled eggs, and homemade sausage, with coffee and orange juice. We ate it all, and were able to chat with the other guests.

This isn't a ding on The Victorian, at all, but Fairfield is a pretty small town in the countryside. The coffee shop down the street, for instance, is only open on weekdays. I love that kind of thing, because it forces you to slow down instead of rushing from one thing to another, but this might not be your cup of tea.
