Although the studio apartment was small and compact, the high ceilings made it seem more spacious. This impression was enhanced by the large double windows with louvred shutters which could be fully opened, letting in a lot of fresh air and sunlight and giving a view of the azure blue sky and terracotta tiled roofs , a glimpse of the sparkling sea and to the right, the imposing facade of the Hotel Napoleon with its crenellated tower. This apartment is best suited to a sole traveller, rather than a couple as then it is possible to extend the fold up oval pine table to its fullest extent and place it under the window for the duration of your stay and sleep on the divan couch as it is, instead of having to pull down and make up the sofa bed each evening. The kitchen was well equipped with crockery and cooking utensils, although the bench space was limited, making use of the table a necessity for food preparation. The apartment was situated in an ideal, central location which was easy to find and clear detailed instructions (given in English!) about how to access the key. Having to climb up 65 marble steps to reach the apartment that was 3 floors up, although admittedly this was good exercise.
