Sigiriya Water Guest & View Point Restaurant

Family run homestay in nature, with a nice view. Breakfast was delicious, they were very helpful with everything. On the top of the roof there is a nice place to chill, the view is on Sigiriyas rock. Very nice experience.

Location, views and hospitality

Room had an extra bed which made it relatively small.

The location is very convenient, about a 5-minute tuk-tuk ride to Sigiriya Rock, and you can even see the rock from the terrace. The owners are both friendly and kind. Since PickMe (a ride-hailing app) is not really available in Sigiriya (there are hardly any drivers), they kindly arranged tuk-tuks and taxis for me at very reasonable prices. The breakfast was also amazing. They prepared a shaded terrace seat with a view of Sigiriya Rock, which was very relaxing and nice. The rolled pancakes were soft, fluffy, and perfectly sweet—absolutely delicious! There was also a savory dish (like a salad), which was really tasty as well.

The only minor downside was that some insects got into the room, but I think this is common in Sigiriya in general rather than the fault of the place.
