Lake Lodges

Very clean and comfortable.

Not a big deal as we were only there for one night but the tv wouldn’t connect to anything. Post code given does not take you to the location, it takes you to the recycling centre.

Location was very convenient being situated 10 minutes out of Chichester with easy access to the shops and surrounding areas and beaches. Lodge is compact and bijou but contains everything required for a pleasant stay. Very clean and tidy with wet room shower, comfortable beds and lounge / decked area overlooking the lake. Check out was easy.

Very small bunk room but we didn't need to use it. It would benefit from a clock in the lounge area and definitely a shelf in the bathroom to put a toothbrush etc on. Whilst the directions and postcode are given and correct it is rather easy to miss the entrance to the lodges. It can be noisy at times outside due to the proximity of major roads.

Nice location. Very compact but everything you need is supplied.

Cleanliness could have better. Lots of cobwebs.

Getting into the accommodation was incredibly easy, with codes for the gates and key box provided in advance. The whole process was seamless, which was particularly appreciated as we arrived a little later than planned and didn't have to disturb anyone. The view over the lake really is lovely, and I thoroughly enjoyed sitting with a cup of coffee in the morning watching the various waterfowl. The shower was also really good, with excellent water pressure. Absolutely no complaints there!

I completely understand that this was one of the more affordable options available when we booked, so I certainly wasn't expecting five-star accommodation. However, I do think there's a difference between basic and poorly maintained. When we turned on the bathroom light, the extractor fan proceeded to spit out accumulated bits of other people's skin, belly button fluff and who knows what else all over the bathroom. It was absolutely filthy. It would also have been nice to have an actual fitted sheet on the bed rather than sleeping directly on the mattress protector. The mattresses themselves were so old that you could feel the individual springs through them. The kettle had enough limescale in it to start building the foundations of a small fort, and the tea towel provided in the kitchen was stained and frankly revolting. One thing that isn't necessarily within the owners' control, but is worth mentioning, is the noise. The photos on Booking.com make the property look beautifully peaceful, overlooking a gorgeous lake. And the view really is lovely. Unfortunately, there's a bypass running right next to the lake, so while it's visually stunning, it's anything but peaceful from a noise perspective. To add to that, the walls are incredibly thin. We could hear entire conversations from the neighbouring accommodation, including the rather loud telling-off of some young children. I wasn't expecting luxury, but I was expecting somewhere clean, reasonably comfortable and properly maintained. Unfortunately, this fell well short of that.
