Soratobu Usagi

This place is great! It is run by a family and the service is exceptional. They take a lot of pride in their business and strive to make the customer feel happy.

This place is a little far from many of the ski resorts, restaurants, and stores without a vehicle. There is on site breakfast and dinner offered for a modest fee and it is delicious! The public shuttle bus and taxi cabs are expensive and add at least 2000 yen cost to your day of skiing. However, my favorite location to snowboard in this area is Suginohara and it is literally ski in ski out from the accommodation. There is a lift directly within eye sight of the location that takes you up to the ski resort (first ride of the day is free). It may be worth it to rent a vehicle if I stay there again. Otherwise, I might stay more in the Asakusa area where there are more restaurants and stores in walking distance. I was there for 13 days and felt very isolated from much of the mountain by the end of the trip.

Staff were excellent & the meals (breakfast+ dinner) were really great with a different Japanese style each night. Easy to get to the lifts & plenty of parking.

Strange combination of heaters in the room, didn't like the heater exhaust smell.

Breakfast and Dinner were incredibly good value and convenient. This is a deliberate re visit of this place, was here last year. This is located in Suginosawa/Suginhara, which is a little out of the way (without a car) but at the best ski area in Myoko.

Not an issue with Soratobu Usagi, but the Myoko tourism/skiing body, The cost 1000 yen for a ski bus ride each way is a little steep! Compared to Nozawa Onsen which is free/included in ski lift pricing. Hope the overall tourism management of this area will consider incorporating the transport into the cost of the ski/lift tickets. At this end as opposed to the Akakura Onsen end, seems to be neglected by the tourism office with regards to public transport. It's inconvenient to try get to the likes of Tangram, Madrao or even Lotte Arie by public transport.

Very helpful and kind staff, ski in/ski out location is great.

Very basic, cramped (even for Japan) rooms that were not well-equipped.
