Horská Chata pod Soliskom

To get there is an adventure in itself, I was walking in pouring rain and thunders growling in vicinity. I was the only one in the hostel that day. Was welcomed nicely and everything was explained to me at the start. It’s cool that the dining room is transformed at night and you get a mattress to sleep on top of one of the tables 👌🏻 Very good price for the night.

Prices could be a little better in the restaurant, but I understand, it’s the only hut in the area and it’s located quite high on the mountain. Couldn’t sleep all night but there was a thunderstorm and it’s not your fault ⛈️

Beautiful place, clean, amazing views, comfortable beds, super amenities in the room - all what you need to prepare some food, helpful staff

Everything is new and clean, the design fits the location perfectly, and of course the location itself is 10/10. If you are looking to escape the city and the crowds of tourists, this is the perfect place to be. There is a restaurant nearby that is open from early morning until evening (at least in winter) and serves delicious food. The breakfast was perfect.

You need to plan in advance how you will get to the hotel :) Also, when the sun shines, the rooms can get very warm.

Awesome scenery surrounded by the mountains, that's what makes it worth in the end, but services are overall not worth the price.

If you're looking to get a good night of sleep, forget about it. Snowmobiles park in front of the Chalet and make incredible noise for basically the whole night, or were just left idling for hours. Snow cannons were often active and adding to the already intense noise. Understandably, the slopes have to be maintained and probably the personnel taking care of it aren't part of the hotel staff, still, absolutely no regard for guests, especially considering the 150 EUR per night fee. Additionally, the colder it is, the more Intense is the smell of the septic system, so opening the window in the morning is not an option either. Food at the Chata is sub par and overpriced. 8 euro for ONE single scrambled egg (extremely runny and most likely unsafe to eat) or 7.50 for 3 tiny boiled discount sausages is an insult. Information regarding parking spots and instructions on how to get the chairlift system would be appreciated, we had to find out everything the day of the arrival. If you don't speak Slovak, then you better go somewhere else since English isn't a thing, despite the high influx of tourists. Nice place for skiing, not as nice for getting a good rest. Too bad.
