Great stay at Hotel Schmid

Enjoyed it

Very good rural location on a hill. Arrangements were made for late arrival. Good overnight facilities and friendly exchange with the hosts before leaving. Would go there again.

Friendly owner, hotel may be better in colder weather

The owner received us with a very wide smile and he was very friendly although we came 30 minutes after check in. He was every day very joyful. We couldn't enjoy the pool as we were quite busy, but you could see from the room that it would have been quite nice. The bed was very comfortable and the size of the room as well. We had a little balcony where we could sit down to rest from the activities.

Unfortunately we could hear the loud Autobahn from the room. As it was warm, we wanted to sleep with open windows, but it was not possible due to the noise. We are not used to it, so it was annoying for us. We were in the front room, most likely in the other rooms it was not that loud. The room was quite warm although we tried t keep it dark during the day. When I booked, I didn't know this hotel was "Electro Smog Free" (maybe I missed it in the description or comments). This means that they don't offer WIFI and they ask you not to use your phone. The hotel is full of signs to remind you this. They provide alternative connection, like a laptop in the room or reception, that we didn't use. When we travel I usually do research on my phone and look for restaurants, things to do, etc during breakfast. But taking the phone to the breakfast room is not allowed. I have free data on my phone, so not having wifi is not an issue, except that as many German towns, the connection through the telco providers is very weak. If I would have know this detail, maybe I wouldn't have booked in the hotel.

Very good

Excellent breakfast, very friendly owner/host. The pool facility was a welcome refresher after a long drive, arriving on a hot summer day. Walk into town center is a convenient one, 5-10 minutes. Parking is convenient in front of the accomodation.

Netjes en schoon maar voelde toch niet helemaal gastvrij.

Geen ontbijt. Naar mijn idee wel bij het reserveren geboekt. Maar op locatie kon dat niet meer bij geboekt worden. Ook avond eten niet mogelijk terwijl de website van het hotel half pension met dag menu's aanbieden. Kennelijk wordt het hele hotel gerund door 1 perdoon die ook gewoon een baan heeft. Redelijk dicht bij de snelweg 5 en die hoor je dan ook goed. Geen wifi maar een kabel aan je mobiel voor internet.

Bereik mobiele telefoon is zeer slecht, dit ligt niet aan het hotel. Via kabel heb je internetverbinding. Bij warm weer mis je een airco.

Meneer is zeer vriendelijk. Goed ontbijt. Niet heel uitgebreid maar wel vers en met liefde voor je klaargezet. Hij vroeg hoelaat we wilden ontbijten en op de afgesproken tijd lagen er heerlijk warme eitjes klaar. Zwembad is niet mega maar voor de kinderen om even te plonzen na een lange reis was het meer dan genoeg. We hadden de bovenste 'kamer' wat meer leek op een appartement. We hadden 3 grote slaapkamers. 1 grote badkamer met wc en 1 kleine badkamer met wc aangrenzend aan de slaapkamer. En balkon. Echt super.

Voor 16u aankomen heeft geen zin want meneer is zelf om 16u pas weer op locatie. Staat ook in de beschrijving. Alleen bij ons ging de reis ernaartoe voorspoedig. Waren er om 15u maar konden dus een uur wachten. Maar ach. Het is vakantie.
