Expensive, expected more for a place described as Bistro and wellness. Very expensive, very remote.

Jets in whirlpool bath squirted out smelly cold water when I first turned it on. difficulty manoevering my bicycle into and out of my room.

Quality of the breakfast varied along with the number of guests. The more guests the better breakfast and vice versa.

There was no room service on a regular base. The room was not clean, the linen and towels had a very bad smell, and it took a couple of days for the staff to change them.

The area was quite central and had a peaceful vibe. a bit disappointed by the basic facilities.

Wi-Fi simply didn’t work. we had to stand in the doorway to connect using password but it cut out as soon as we moved. The shower needed persistent pressing of a button to keep water going. not recommended for someone with neuromuscular difficulties. The TV remote worked for on/off and volume, set top box remote did not work for channels (had to use the buttons on the box) no instructions for use. Bed wasn’t very comfortable and squeaked when you moved.

I wouldn't stay in the cabins again, but would stay in the hotel. The food was very good.

We stayed in the flat-pack cabins in the garden. There was no room in the hotel.

Horrific. Do not stay here. Overpriced and terrible.

We had to get moved out of the property and relocated by the fire dept due to the shacks not meeting fire regulations. We got moved back for our final night but the beds were terrible and there was only 1 toilet for 26 people. Everyone else there was also complaining. After leaving the property the owner whatsapp-ed me to tell me he was 'cancelling' our stay, even though we did stay - clearly to avoid a bad review. This meant we are potentially liable for no show/cancellation charges on the booking so I had to complain to Booking CS. The price was extortionate for what it is - a shed in a yard. Avoid at all costs.

A good stopover

The room was spacious, comfortable and good value for money. In the morning the host helped us down the very steep stairs with our luggage - we had been on the road for a week so one big suitcase for or clean clothes covering all weather eventualities and one smaller suitcase for our dirty clothes. There was a very good continental breakfast with interesting choices of teas and coffees.

Whilst I appreciate that we were the only people eating in the restaurant that evening and it was midweek I was disappointed with the quality and the price of the food served and along the wines. Many years ago I had a house in Belgium and reckoned that Belgian food was among the best in Europe so perhaps I came to this meal with too many expectations!

This hotel is really a good choice and I could recomended it.

The location was really nice just a few km from Oudenaarde. It´s a good place to stay if you travel to do sports such as Bike and Hike. The room has a good size and you can put your bikes inside.

The Wi-FI wasn´t good and we couldn´t regulate the shower temperature.

Solid choice, thanks to Luc

Luc is an excellent host, breakfast is fantastic, the restaurant is delicious with a good selection of beer. The room was very comfortable. the garden looks lovely. Luc speaks good English

we stayed over the Ronde van Flanderen weekend and the room seemed overpriced (€200). there was no soap or shower gel in the bathroom.

Authentic luxury in a romantic setting

Friendly, flexible staff. Stylish and comfortable room. Idyllic setting in a quaint Flemish village. Last-minute (and late) booking was much appreciated. And the wellness area with sauna, turkish bath and jacuzzi is fabulous! Highly recommended!

Fabulous

It is a charming property, quirky, warm and very clean and comfy beds. The host was most obliging, Tasty breakfast, good coffee, hot, freshly baked rolls and croissants and a lovely omelette for breakfast. The host was very friendly and shared his knowledge of the area and helpful info for our onward travel. It is in a quiet location so perfect for a relaxing break away from the City but close enough to still explore Gent and Brugge. Accessible by public transport. (Train to Oudenaarde, No. 16 bus from station and a 15 minute walk.). Wi-fi worked well and TV had a good signal for a rural property.

As already noted, a continuing work in progress as with all accommodations so we are looking forward to returning when it is more sumptuous. Would have liked a double bed, more sockets, but an old building so this may be tricky. Also, tea and coffee facilities would have been most welcome.

Een zeer leuk driedaags verblijf in prachtige streek, een aanrader.

In een prachtige streek een leuk hotel. Kamer was super en bij het bijhorende ontbijt kwam je niets te kort. We bleven ook dineren in de bistro. Na onze fietstocht ook een fijne plons in het verwarmde zwembad

Niets Klagen over de kerktoren die 's morgens lawaai maakt vind ik zinloos. ;-)

Geuzenfeest 2025

De locatie in het centrum van Horebeke is ideaal. Vriendelijke eigenaar. Het hotel is nu uitgebreid met een gebouw ernaast, waar we een kamer kregen. Comfortabel en nette badkamer, kitchenette aanwezig (gebruik niet toegestaan). Goed verzorgd ontbijt in sfeervol ogende ontbijtruimte, en bij mooi weer tevens zitruimte op het terras. Fijn dat er stopcontacten bij het bed zijn aangebracht voor het laden van gsm's. Dit hotel is een aanrader voor wandelaars en fietsers die graag het mooie heuvellandschap van de Vlaamse Ardennen willen verkennen.

Bij aankomst ontvingen we meteen een strenge waarschuwing om geen eten of drinken op de kamer te nuttigen, met de melding dat bij overtreding een extra afvaltaks van 15 euro zou volgen en we zelfs gevraagd konden worden het hotel te verlaten. We begrijpen de huisregels, maar door de toon van het bericht voelden we ons niet direct welkom. Het verblijf zelf was nochtans erg prettig.

Gelukkig is het mooi weer. (CHECK IN TIME : 4.00 PM (Early check in is not possible with this reservation.). Om dan toch nog anderhalf uur buiten op de stoep te moeten wachten voor een gesloten receptie met nog acht andere gasten is geen pretje. Ook fijn dat er geen reactie komt op telefonische en whatsapp vragen/verzoeken (If you have a question abouth things to do / see. Please send a message.). Het krijgen van een soort 'dreigmail' (Please don’t bring your own drinks or bring/prepare food in the room with aditional waste. Afther all, this is not a hollidayhome or camping. We will ask you to leave the hotel emmediatly and will charge extra waste tax. (15,-) without any warning.) voor aankomst doet vermoeden dat er wel de nodige faciliteiten aanwezig zijn op de kamer. Mooi niet. Er is helemaal niets. En de mogelijkheid om in het hotel iets te eten lukt ook niet omdat ze zich niet hebben kunnen voorbereiden. Mijn advies: ZOEK EEN ANDER ADRES

Heel sfeervol hotel met warm ontvangst

Heel fijn verblijf gehad. Sfeervolle kamer, heerlijk bed en prachtig uitzicht. De gastheer is super vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Al met al een dikke 10 waard. Wij komen zeker terug!

Mooie plek, vreemde communicatie

Vriendelijke uitbater, mooie tuin, ruime kamer!

Nogal vreemd standaardbericht gekregen vooraf dat we geen eten of drinken in kamer mochten meenemen of we moesten het hotel verlaten en een boete van 15 euro betalen. Weet niet of dit van uitbater zelf kwam, want hij was ter plekke zeer vriendelijk. Onze kamer was niet goed verduisterd, jammer want we bleven er slapen na een trouw.

Einfaches sauberes Hotel in ganz toller Umgebung

Es ist eine etwas in tage gekommene, sehr einfach ausgestattete Unterkunft. Steckdosen werden mittels dreifach Verlängerungskabel angeboten. Nicht alle funktionieren wie sie sollten. Dennoch ist das Zimmer sauber das Bett in Ordnung das Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück ist klasse (für ein ein belgisches Frühstück). Der Kaffee kommt aus einer Nespresso Kapselmaschine. Es gibt aber die Möglichkeit, sich gegen Aufpreis einen Cappuccino oder Ähnliches anfertigen zu lassen. Alles in allem war das Hotel in Ordnung.
