Maison Gaspard - Suites et appartements de charme à Saumur

Wonderful hosts.

Great location, large well stocked apartment

If you are a light sleeper, there was street noise in the street-facing bedroom

Very central and room was spacious with separate loo which is always useful.

The location was good, very central for Saumur but still very quiet. The apartment itself was nicely decorated etc. and had air con

This is an Airbnb, not a hotel, don’t be fooled! (And yes we filtered by hotel in our search). No reception or staff, self check in with a lock box. Don’t recommend arriving in the dark - doesn’t feel welcoming (even the lights didn’t come on properly so we were stumbling around in the dark corridor with our heavy bags trying to find out apartment). Parking wasn’t straightforward. The apartment had no shower despite a large bathroom, only a very small bath with a shower head but no curtain or screen so you had to sit in the bath to wash. The air con into in the bedroom makes a loud droning noise every 20 mins all through the night and is directly above the bed! And when you leave, you have to strip all the beds, wash up the cups/glasses you’ve used (bear in mind there was no kitchen just tea and coffee making facilities), and take out all the bins. Never had to do that in a hotel!
