Complex Check in process good location.

Apartment was mostly clean with a few exceptions. Close proximity to town and beds were comfortable. Had good facilities for cooking and overall apartment was nice.

Firstly check in was complex and not very well explained. You had to pay a security waiver which is normal on rentals but it wasn't explained I did ask. Check in details were only given once this was paid which led to a lot of confusion and stress as i was travelling. You have to go some distance away to collect keys ok if you have a car and are familiar with the town. I hate to think what it would have been like for someone elderly or with mobility issues and no transport. The other issue was balcony had nesting birds but looked like it had nit been cleaned in a very very long time. Pigeon poo is hazardous if left believe may lead to property being enviromentally unsafe to health. You certainly would not have been able to open the door to balcony for fresh air or to step out . My friend also had a bathroom fan fall on her in the ensuite and noise coming from this through the night. I also explained the stress on check in and the staff member i feel was condesending and rude . Gabbi was her name. I did ask if deposit needed to be paid with no response prior to check in . She then was rude when i explained it was not made clear. Be up front re deposit and complex check in please . Too many links over complex process think about elderly or those with no transport or who don't know the area.

Comfy enjoyable stay

Good communication from the hosts by email and the completion of 'boarding pass' information gave useful webpage outlining all the information on access and facilities. Also they courtesy called for updates. Spacious rooms, clean & tidy. Second TV in bedroom, handy for kids. Quiet location on seafront with easy walk to town centre and next to a leisure centre. Large bath towels!

The sofa in the lounge is also a sofa bed so wasn't very comfy for just sitting on (ok as a bed). Some minor niggles with worn out items e.g. window blind cords, extract fan, couple of chipped crockery items, sticking window.

Location

Beds uncomfortable,needs a bit of TLC in decor! On arrival at key nest,could not access key!agter 2 or 3 phone calls,had to wait for key to be delivered by hand! Not enough towels!

Functional and adequate for the price

It was central position , close to amenities. The property was sparse but adequate .

Too many things were broken iefridge shelving , bedroom blinds , sitting room sofa etc. glassware poor in quality and inadequate supply. Overall the property had a “ tired” feel.

Beautiful apartment

The whole layout on two floors, having 3 toilets and the lovely view over the river. Only few minutes walk to beach

Disappointing

Wasn't happy with the stay the apartment was great but a lot of banging from upstairs and group of drunk women outside we were a in fear and alarm. I'm either wanting a refund or another apartment to stay at for free.. we've all suffered from previous domestic abuse and my little girl was terrified

great short break

we had a short family break for a few days at the Iona. we loved the spacious flat and quiet location. Flat was just as described and very well equipped. We would return again.

The double bed was not the most comfortable and the sofa was quite lumpy but didn’t put us off.

kept getting phone calls from the owners, I wouldn’t have reported it if they didn’t call but not enough side plates, bowls & cutlery for the 5of us even tho the apartment sleeps 6… Even tho I reported it when they called we still didn’t get any more / couldn’t eat together…..

The size of the apartment it was larger than most. The location to the town and beach is excellent

Not enough utensils in the kitchen and no Instructions what to do with the rubbish.one of the kitchen chairs broke but was not replaced after the broken one was removed.

Lovely location

The location was perfect, close to Ayr beach. The apartment was comfortable for a family of 4. It was spacious and love the interior styling. Detailed instructions for parking and where to get the keys was provided. The bed was super comfortable. Overall, it was a lovely stay.

The footsteps we hear from the top floor neighbours at night can be annoying, the cricking sound of the floor as we walk in the apartment was not nice. The door lock to the bathroom in the ensuite bedroom was faulty, had difficulty using the toilet at night. Lack of basic supplies in the kitchen like pizza cutter, salt and pepper, baking paper, foil paper and only one bin bag was provided for a 4 night stay with a family of 4, which I thought was so miserly. The washing liquid in the kitchen and the shower cream provided was not sufficient. Only one person can use it for only 2 time shower. The broadband was very slow, we couldn't watch Netflix properly, as it kept showing network error in between a movie, we had to switch off the broadband to let it reboot several times. Management will need to invest in a good broadband, as it took forever to log on to work from my laptop. Won't recommend if you want to work remotely.

Pleasant flat, some things need fixed.

Flat was large, clean and comfortable.

Cutlery requires to be replaced as soon as possible - all handles were loose on forks, dessert spoons and knives and fell off when we tried to use them. We borrowed cutlery from a relative for our stay. Cutting food with a knife when the handle falls off is not great! It would have been great to have had a kitchen bin that actually opened - the lid was stuck shut! All other self-catering accommodations we have stayed in have provided at least one bin liner for guests. This flat had none! Images sent by host, showing the parking bay, showed the wrong one! We parked in someone else’s space thinking our one had been taken and they left us a sharp note telling us to move. Which we did when we worked out where we were meant to be. Didn’t help that the screw in the parking bay number made the letter look like the one we needed! Wifi was not working when we arrived and this meant that a business meeting was not possible. This was fixed very quickly however by then it was too late. Wifi worked well for the rest of our stay.

Great location - just back from the seafront and a short walk into town. Spacious bedrooms. Apartment was immaculate.

Floorboards between the floors are obviously very thin - could hear the person in the flat above constantly pacing with heavy footsteps.

It was new and spotlessly clean

The bedroom windows don't close tight so there is draft coming through Though we booked for 5 adults, toiletries were available only for 2. And also the 5th bed 2as not made up and no instructions on how to go about it. But the most important thing the property kept phoning me before we checked in asking for credit card details for a £200 deposit though I had paid in full and there was no.mention of this when booking. I refused and booking.com sorted it out. BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY one of our group 2as not well and when we asked if the person could just rest till 12 noon even though we had cleared out the apartment by 10.30 they insited on a surcharge of £15. No bin for recyclable waste. Car park is not guaranteed as twice others had parked and the host expressed inability to do anything about it.
