Cozy Alpine Apartment Stare Bohinj

We liked the location in the middle of the countryside, its tranquility. It´s a perfect base for hikes and walks. We didn’t have to use a car, instead we used our own bikes (bikes are available for guests anyway). There’s a Dolce Gusto with capsules available and basic cooking stuff like oil, sugar, salt and pepper and some seasonings, which was amazing. To Pokljuka we got by bus. I do not recommend using your own car, bus is more convenient plus you’re green. Locals appreciate it. Borut is a fantastic host, friendly and helpful like most Slovenian people. He offered us beer at the check and gave us lots of useful leaflets and advice. Hope to come again one day.

The bedroom is just for two people although there are three beds. Otherwise, it’s ok. I also missed a window in the kitchen.

Der freundliche Empfang vom Gastgeber Borut :-) Der Gastgeber Borut erklärte mir detailliert wo und was für Aktivitäten man um diese Regionen machen kann. Die Region bietet alles was man zum Entspannen braucht. Auch der Bohinjer See und der Vogelpass sind ein Besuch wert :-) Ich komme sicherlich wieder.

Borut was extremely helpful and friendly. He gave us loads of advice on places to visit and his mum gave us a drink and even some lovely tomatoes from her garden when we arrived. The apartment is in a village about 4km from the lake. We loved having the use of the bikes, as Borut said no one will steal them, but they did the job and gave us flexibility plus the cycle track to the lake or the other direction (Bohinjska Bistrica) is lovely. Just one steep short bit to negotiate! The road to the lake is quite busy so can be noisy even though the apartment faces away from the road, I wouldn't advise riding the bikes on it either esp as cycle route is so good. We were visiting for some big mountain walking and Bohinj certainly has lots nearby. We had some good chats with Borut on local peaks incl Triglav, which we summited successfully :-)
