Worst apartment I have ever reserved and a nightmare experience for all of us

Good sized rear garden with sufficient parking space for 3 cars in the front of the property. 3 rooms with sufficient beds to sleep 8 people and there was good WiFi.

There are many things that made this a nightmare experience. 1. The door leading from the house to the rear garden was defective and as such could not be securely locked. I couldn’t sleep properly throughout the stay for fear of intruders breaking in 2. The power supply to portions of the property kept tripping leaving us with no hot water for a shower, no power to sockets and no lights for parts of our stay 3. A strong smell of urine in the property on our arrival, wet floor and smelly carpet in the living room 4. The pictures on booking.com were a far cry from the reality of the property with dust and cobwebs on light fixtures 5. There was no good sized cooking pot for us to prepare a meal hence we had to go shopping for pots 6. The storage cupboards in the bed rooms were all wonky and damaged 7. No bathing soap or dish washer soap was provided 8. The bath tub was slow draining, I had to manually use a plunger to remove hair that had been trapped and prevented free flow of water 9. Sofa was worn and fraying at the base

Nothing good about the property. Location to the centre was the only positive. Need car or public transport as its quite a walk.

Do Not Recommend! £200 deposit was requested 7 days before our arrival date and after we had paid in full the non-refundable cost of the rental. This was not clear on the booking...seems to be on the site now! Before we arrived it was difficult to get information on how to access the property - we were still trying to get this information after the allowed check-in time. Finally got it after sending Id via Wattsapp to a private number and not through booking.com?! We gave the benefit of the doubt as we had no choice after already paying the full cost and not being able to get a refund. The property was in a bad state of repair. The kitchen double doors were broken and were unsecured on arrival. The hinges were clearly broken and we couldn't access the back garden. The kitchen had only 1 bowl and 3 plates. There was no cutlery or cooking pans. When we opened what should have been the pan cupboard, we were greeted with a red tray full of RAT Poison!! There was no cutlery and not enough kitchen seating for 8. There was also no dryer as advertised and the dishwasher was broken. The blinds throughout the property were difficult to close and many were broken and didn't close at all. The one bathroom has 2 showers - only one was working. The bathroom window was broken and had been taped up with black masking tape! There were iron marks on the carpets and the place felt dirty. We would never have stayed here had we been able to read the review from 11th July, however this wasn't published on booking.com until after we had arrived! We booked a house and not a hotel as one of our party has additional needs, and we needed a kitchen to prepare food. This was not possible and as such cost us massive stress and £100's extra to eat out. Outside the decking had ashtrays full to the brim with cigarette butt's and the bins were full of rubbish. It was absolutely disgusting. We have photos of all of this.

Don't recommend, grubby and only 1 fork in the drawer!

Good location and spacious.

Very surprised by the good reviews! It's really lacking amenities wise. The £200 deposit wasn't clear and was requested 24 hours before the stay (looks like this has now been added to the page). And when it got to the check in time and I hadn't received the details, I was told I'd have to send a copy of my ID via WhatsApp before this was released. Which was never mentioned beforehand. The property sleeps 8. But the dining table is only big enough for 4. But worse than that there was not enough cutlery and plates. There was 5 plates and 1 fork!!! There was no bowls at all, so one of my group had to eat their porridge out of a pot! The kitchen looks nice and big but all the cupboards are empty. The heating and hot water weren't on and there was no clear instructions for it. We just about managed to figure it out. The boiler was very old and didn't look safe. The place was a bit grubby and the window in the bathroom was broken and patched up with tape. There's 2 showers in the bathroom, but only 1 works. This property could easily be great with some basic amendments, but I don't recommend staying here currently.
