This remarkable private rental, perched in the trees and built of consciously-sourced natural materials, is moments from the white sand beach of Playa Hermosa. We created Hermosa Treehouse with everything you could ever need for a restorative private getaway, including the ocean breeze.
** NEW ** - We've just completed an ocean view platform on the property connected to the top floor via a suspended bridge that is large enough for a 10-person yoga classes, massages and cocktail hour with amazing views.
This is truly the best spot in Santa Teresa! Located in the upscale and quiet north end of town, you’re a 2-minute walk to the beach from the back gate, amazing tide pools to the right, surf break for all skill levels to the left, and gorgeous jungle and ocean views from the house. The property is very private and secure, with high fences and two gates from the main road – no steep driveways to navigate like most homes in the area. There is a small store and two restaurants within a 5-minute walk from the house, but a beautiful 10 minute drive puts you in the heart of Santa Teresa.
The treehouse features an open air king suite on the top floor where you can experience sleeping in the jungle with the cool ocean breeze, crashing waves and amazing ocean view when you wake in the morning. A sofa bed is also available in this room. You'll also find three additional fully enclosed king suites with air conditioning on lower floors (total 4 king suites), each with en suite bathrooms.
Gaze out the secluded balcony to catch the stunning ocean view and watch howler monkeys swing from the canopy. Savor or serve a meal in the fully equipped gourmet chef’s kitchen. Take a dip in the private swimming pool. There are endless delights for you to enjoy in this tropical heaven.

This is a breathtaking architect designed surf shack. The house is the absolutely closest property (100 meters) to the best family surf spot in Santa Teresa, its within walking distance to coffee, pizza and grocery stores and the sound of the surf, birds and howler monkeys greet you every morning. The issues with the property are also mainly its location....its right beside the main coastal road to playa hermosa and beyond, and during the day on busy days there is a constant noise of quad and two wheeled motor bikes from the road.
The house has three rooms, and one is air conditioned - the main living area blends seamlessly into the pool and garden which is populated with raccoons, lizards and other wildlife (including bugs!). If you are squeamish about that proximity then this might not be the property for you. Lastly, the sleeping arrangements are limited to two main bedrooms each with en suite bathroom. Small children can easily sleep on the sofas in each of those rooms but older children may need more privacy. Lastly, this house is vertical, with spectacular views from the upper floor deck - you will become very familiar with the beautiful staircase. We didn't mind, but its definitely a lot of up and down! We could have stayed forever but there are a couple of drawbacks for the less adventurous guest..
