Yoshimigura Machiya House

For three adult women travelling together, having a whole house to ourselves in Kyoto was a luxury. One of us slept on a futon in the downstairs dayroom / living room near the kitchen, while the other two were upstairs in the Western single beds. We enjoyed having a full kitchen complete with a fridge and washing machine, a Japanese wet room bathroom and a separate toilet for convenience. The air condition machines in every room worked like a wonder, which was essential for combating the summer heat.

To be expected with this sort of accommodation, I suppose, but we did not appreciate being met by a giant cockroach on the second floor of the house on arrival, before we had even moved our bags upstairs. We also saw smaller ones during the remainder of our stay. This was probably the only major con of this stay.

Full immersion experience. We sere looking for something out of the ordinary and this delivered!

Honestly, the complimentary coffee was so good, but not a lot was provided. I get it that at it may be a premium item but would have expected that for rate charged for the unit a few more cups of coffee wouldn't hurt. There was not a lot of options close by,

京都市街と、嵐山や渡月橋へ観光で利用しました。 大宮駅から歩いて数分と利便性が良く、一棟貸しの宿だったのでプライベート感を満喫できました。 入口と２Fに飾ってあるひょうたん？へちま？の装飾も可愛らしかったです。

一軒やを貸し切りなので、ベッドルームと畳の寝室もあり広々でしたが、２人で利用したのでベッドルームしか使いませんでした。次回は、大人数で畳の布団も利用してみます。
