Cay Sao Resort

Quiet place to relax and catch your breath. Nice beach. Great food. Pool was kept very clean.

Rubbish laying around and not picked up the whole time we were there. Hard berries not swept up on pathways. Coconuts falling from trees in seating area. No housekeeping at all the whole time we were there. Syringes and rubbish left on the small beach area.

Beautiful location, cute hut, nice simple breakfast. A bit far from anything else, so be prepared to travel. But looks and feels more authentic than other resorts/hotels we visited.

As others have mentioned, beach is unusable but that's an island problem. Lean into the slow, accept that staff and service is languid and you won't have a problem

* Very relaxing place!!!! (What i needed) * No mosquitos in room and i don't think I saw any outside either. Room was amazingly "tight" for a wooden bungalow (often windows or doors have huge gaps, but theese ones are well built). * Nice wooden bungalows right by the "beach" or should i say sea front (more on that later). * Very cute bathroom, fits perfect with the enviroment. * Mini fridge & AC that was very quiet (24° auto fan mode) * Personell always smiling and happy to help. * Theres not really a beach in the sense of a clean sand beach, but they made their own huge patch of white sand on the grass with hamocks and a volleyball net. * Theres a small pool, which i haven't tried yet, but looks clean like the rest of the place (except see cons).

* The beach/water is full of trash (plastic bags, bottles and so on floating in water) and the water was full of algee so visibility snorkeling was like 0.3m maybe 0.5m at the very shallow parts. Might be better when currents change, but was like this in January at least. * Same as in Thailand, beds are rock hard, but I've learnt to live with it, as its the same basically everywhere in S.E. Asia. * A bedside table or shelf, even if small, for glasses and the phone by the outlet would be nice. I travelled alone so could just throw it on the bed, but if two you dont wanna get up when getting sleepy to put phone down on charge.

1. Cards were accepted with additional 5% charges, which is nowhere mentioned in the resort details, else pay cash. Hassle for paying cash 2. In pictures private beach is shown, whereas there is no private beach, just some steps down to water and that too its dirty, trach around water 3. No breakfast buffet (which again not mentioned in resort details), you can order 1 dish (like stirred fried noodles, sandwich etc.) plus 1 drink....that's it Totally not worth the money paid
