About this house rental
1840 sq ft house on 1 1/2 wooded acres and 150 feet of waterfront property.
Enjoy the sunrises over Atkins Bay in the back yard and sunsets over Spirit Pond across the street.
Just one mile to Popham Beach with 4 miles of sand! Collect shells and/or walk to Fox Island at low-tide.
You can also relax on the deck and enjoy being in the woods.
Lots of animal life. Bald Eagles and and Osprey hunt and live in the State lands across the bay. You don't know how large the eagles are until they land in the trees in the back yard. We also have visits from deer, fox, and a lone turkey.
Another sight is watching a pack of seals drive fish into the bay.
House is relaxing. While the main Living/Dining room has television, the other living room can be closed off with sliding doors for some quiet reading time with a Futon, couch, and chair.
The first floor is the kitchen, dining room with large table, living room, second living room, bath with shower, and a bedroom. The second floor has a large master bedroom, a kid's bedroom with a twin-over-full-sized bunk-bed, and a full bath with tub/shower.
4 Kayaks are included in the rental. You launch in the pond across the street or down the hill in the backyard and into the bay.
Parking in front of house will accommodate three cars. A second driveway provides room for a couple more.
House water is drinkable. A large reverse-osmosis system provides water for the whole house (dishes, showers, etc.). If you've been to Popham before, you know what a rarity this is!
A large, comfortable deck with patio table and chairs, plus four Adirondack chairs. A propane grill for cooking is also on the deck.
A small, rock fire ring is in the back yard. Perfect for sitting around on summer nights.

We had a wonderful time. The kitchen had everything we needed. The house was very close to Popham Beach and Fort Popham. Lovely yard and seats by the bay. We say a beautiful fox one evening while having supper.

House is in a great location to Popham, especially now that they close the lot during high tide due to minimal beach space. I had no idea how much erosion has happened to the beach since we were last there in 2023. It fit our family of four and my MIL perfectly, would also be good for two small families. Mosquitoes around the house made it nearly impossible to hang out outside there. Loved doing the Morse mtn to Sewell beach trail too.

I rented this property for my adult kids and grands. The property was a perfect fit for them. One family had the upstairs and the other was on the main level. All the comforts of home. Beautiful large dining table accommodated us all for family meals. Ken was responsive to all my questions and kept us informed when there was a brief power outage. The kids asked me to book it for next year. Done!

A wonderful stay in a beautiful house! We were so thankful to have this time with our friends! The house was perfect for our needs! The kitchen was well equipped, two full bathrooms, along with laundry facilities, were all needed and used. The proximity to Popham was perfect! Each morning we drove a couple miles to the Fort and walked along the beach for our daily exercise.Mosquitos are an issue EVERYWHERE there’s shade in Maine...so be prepared.The dining table was perfect for games and meals for the six of us...but it could easily hold twelve people!
