Casina Trento

Location, comfort, amenities, space for 1-week stay, charm.

I didn’t mind staircase but would not be appropriate for elderly guests

Casina Trento is a very large studio with a loft in the north of Ortigia (easily accommodates 4 people), close to many excellent restaurants, the ruins of Apollo's Temple and the market. Fully equipped for a comfortable stay. Very convenient to visit the rest of Ortigia and about 30 min walk to the Greek theatre in the center of Syracuse. We stayed four nights and used the apartment as a basis to visit the Baroque towns (about 1h drive), which are fantastic. The host is very welcoming, provides useful information upon arrival and is extremely responsive if anything happens during the stay.

No hot water upon arrival, but the host came the next morning to fix the problem (and indeed offered to came the same night---it was just too late and we were too tired when we realized the problem).

Giacomo is a friendly, helpful and communicative host. The location was superb in close vicinity of the market, the beach, public transports. Great amenities. Giacomo's excellent rating on Booking. com is very well deserved and I second it.

Not Giacomo's fault... the tenant next door keeps is porch light on 24 hours/day. It woke me up a few times at night.

small bathroom even for old town, smell of finish from next apartment and noise from restaurant under my window in bedroom up to 3am
