Het Kabinet

A wonderfully appointed holiday home in the heart of Ieper / Ypres, with a touch of luxury and everything provided - no stone left unturned to ensure we had the perfect stay. We were welcomed like old friends, including a detailed tour, a well-stocked drinks fridge and snack / treat hamper which our children will never forget! Hosts were so helpful when it came to disabled parking, garage access, and practical tips. Thank you so much!

It's hard to improve on Het Kabinet!

Steven was very welcoming and met us promptly. We communicated through e mail and we were able to update our arrival time with him so neither party was waiting. He left us an enormous stash of candies, chocolates (good belgium ones!), crackers, wine, a fridge FULL of drinks, like cherry beer, sparking cider, teas and soft drinks (which we decimated-sorry Steven). He gave us a thorough run down of the place, which is a lovely 3 bedroom- whole house. A nice spacious living room and large dining room table and beautiful back patio where we enjoyed coffee in the morning and supper at night. There is a bedroom one the first floor with a separate full bathroom. upstairs are 2 bedrooms and shared half bath. One bedroom is very large with a large queen bed and the other room has 2 twins. We used the air conditioning 2 nights as it had gotten very warm. There are robes and slippers and shampoo and soap provided. I used the sauna 2 nights- it was lovely! The kitchen had ample space to cook and all we needed for utensils and things like salt, pepper oil, sugar, etc. The location is PRIME!!!!!! 2 blocks from the Menin Gate for last post or just marvelling at it. 1.5 blocks from the main square which contains the Flanders Museum, Ypres Museum and tons of restaurants and shops. Saturday morning market was spectacular. To sum it up A+ for communication, location, hospitality, quality and space of house. One small thing is that it mentions there are bikes, but the were not available for our stay-which was kind of what tipped the scales in favour of this place over others. Make sure you ask about the bikes if they are important to you. One last thing, chocolates in every room!

Het Kabinet is een hele fijne accomodatie in het hart van Ieper. Het huis is heel ruim en gezellig ingericht met een fijne eettafel en een fijne zonnig tuin waarin je kunt eten en in de zon kunt zitten. De locatie is perfect om vanuit daar Ieper en omgeving te verkennen. Parkeren kan vlakbij de accomodatie. De slaapkamers zijn ruim en stil en er is een heel fijne badkamer en ligbad. De koelkast was zeer ruim gevuld en overal vonden wij lekkere chocolade en andere verrassingen, echt heel bijzonder. Het ontbrak in het huis aan niets. Steven heeft ons zeer gastvrij ontvangen. Wij vonden het Kabinet een hele grote aanrader!!

Location and very accommodating owners who even picked us up as a party of 6 from the train station. There were so many goodies we couldn’t eat / drink them all. Fantastic
