Taiheikan

This was one of the best stays I've had on the road. The staff of this ryokan, especially Hiromi-san, are very welcoming, friendly, and professional. They spared no effort in making me free at home and performed their job to the highest standards. The ryokan is exceptionally clean and well-maintained. The Japanese-style breakfast is absolutely amazing. There are no private baths in the rooms, so one must go to the onsen at the beginning and end of the day. I think the onsen facilities of this ryokan will make anyone fall in love with Japanese public baths - they are thoughtfully designed and well-kept. Overall, I was very fortunate to have chosen this ryokan to stay at, and I will definitely come back if I visit the Fuji area again! For those who are hesitating because of the price rate, don't! You will not regret staying at Taiheikan, and the experience is worth much more.

Nothing that I personally didn't like! That said, given that the rooms are in traditional Japanese style, there are no curtains to block light. Therefore, for those who are sensitive to light, wearing an eye mask while sleeping is recommended.

I loved my stay here! It was wonderful to get a more authentic Japanese experience. The bed was very comfortable. Staff was so so friendly and helpful. I loved the onsen experience, it was very clean and incredibly relaxing. The breakfast was delicious, probably one of the best breakfast experience that I had in Japan. The view was incredible from the room, I was lucky to be able to see Mt Fuji. If I go back I would definitely stay here again.

We were so lucky to have two clear days, and the views are sensational! It's a 20minute walk from the station (we actually did the walk as we only had backpacks), but it's right by the lake which was so nice! We did a super nice stroll around the lake for 1hr to get to Oishi park. It's close to a few bike hire places (try to reserve the day before!). The onsen was lovely, the traditional breakfast was delicious. The family who run the hotel are so friendly and sweet, and emanate lovely positive energy. The rooms are traditional, so are supposed to be basic, but are huge. No shower in room as these are in the onsen area, but i liked that as it meant you were actually visited and used the onsen!
