Guesthouse Higashiyama Jao

Ryokan tipico tutto per noi che eravamo in 4 famigliari. C’è tutto quello che serve: asciugamani, spazzolini monouso, sapone, shampoo, bagnoschiuma , lavatrice e cucina attrezzata. Il proprietario è stato molto gentile perché ci ha dato molte informazioni sulla città , ci ha premesso check in anticipato almeno per lasciare i bagagli. La struttura e’ a 5/10 minuti dal primo bus utile per la stazione e per il centro che per raggiungerlo ci vogliono circa 20 minuti. La stazione invece e’ a 10 minuti di bus.

Nous avons apprécié la place de parking située à proximité. La maison est grande, spacieuse pour étaler nos bagages. Équipements suffisants.

Les futons sont un peu fatigués. Ils ne sont plus très épais et on avait l’impression de toucher le sol surtout au milieu du futon.

We stayed here as a group of 4 for 5 nights and had an absolutely wonderful stay, the owner was so lovely and greeted us warmly when we got lost. The facilities were extremely clean and had a very cold air con for the hot sweaty days in Japan. The authenticity of the place really made us love kyoto and we would surely stay here again if we are to ever come back!

Unfortunately it is a long walk from the nearest main station, Kyoto station (30 minutes ) and there is no direct bus to the house. However, if you don’t mind that it shouldn’t put you off. If you do struggle with mobility i might not recommend the place. Around a 10 minute walk you can reach the main road where there is a bus service.

Super quite and peaceful environment

A dated house, with old amenities, situated in a remote area of Kyoto. The futon were awful and would definitely need to be changed, worst nights of our trip.
