The staff were very efficient, courteous and friendly. While all of them was good Ms. Olive went out of her way to help us. Other staff whose names I dont recollect were also very helpful. The hotel also had a good "Happy Hour" offering free snacks, ice cream , coffee and tea. The rooms are decent size. The hotel also had a laundry for use by in-house guests. A spacious lounge and library was useful to spend a few hours after check out.

Pillows were too soft. It would have been good to have firm pillows.

We loved the room we had, 816. It was a large corner room with big windows allowing for great light and nice views of the mountains. The bathroom was huge with a shower, separate bathtub, double sinks and Dyson blow dryer. The snacks, soft drinks, tea and coffee in the room were an unexpected and very appreciated surprise. The afternoon snacks with four flavours of ice cream was something to look forward to after a day of sightseeing. The buffet breakfast was excellent for vegans or vegetarians. Of our one month stay at 11 different properties, this hotel did the best job of labelling/identifying what food items were vegan or vegetarian. So appreciated. The on-site free washing machines were a bonus. You pay for the dryer. One of the lovely staff members at Reception arranged for a car/driver named Jason to take us to Toroko Gorge and a few other sights for the day. We had considered joining a tour but this worked so much better as we set our own schedule and were able to do a 2 hour hike just outside the Toroko park gates. The Toroko park trails are closed but the road is open and definitely worth taking a drive. The gorge trip was a highlight of our Taiwan trip. People who are skipping the gorge are cheating themselves of an awesome day. I wished we had stayed at Just Sleep earlier in our trip and knew what a terrific hotel it was because we would have stayed at other Just Sleeps. The name sounds as though it’s a bare bones hotel but it’s far from it. The hotel name does itself a disservice.

I wish there were robes in the room. That would have made it perfect.

Location very central and easy reachable from train station with a 15 mins bus ride. Check in extremely rapid and concise. Staff very diligent and able to communicate in English even if difficult at times, there is an overall willingness. Room was amazing large, clean…. like an operating theatre with coffee making facilities, a minibar and excellent WiFi connectivity. Hotel can organise excursions like whale watching. Don’t forget to use the spinning room equipped with tea and coffee machines and even ice making facilities. On the second floor one can find a laundry room and lessive is free of charge. Breakfast starts early at 6am which is most welcoming, if like me, an early riser. A wide choice is available including real coffee and options for vegetarians, like me. Menu changes daily. From 3pm, if one is still present at the hotel, there is access to self service of coffee, biscuits and 4 ice cream flavours!! What’s not to like?

So many different switches can be confusing at times to control lighting and request, or not, room cleaning. A small issue indeed which after two days becomes apparent.
