Charming hotel with great service!

Charming little hotel with a good sized room and balcony overlooking the village. The lady at the reception was lovely and service was very good overall. We stayed one night on the TMB and was just what we needed.

The staff was amazing and great balcony view!

The staff was incredibly kind and helpful. We arrived after a long day hiking on the TMB. Valerie helped us book a luggage transfer which we desperately needed. She also helped us book a quick taxi ride for the next morning. We booked a room with a balcony and it was just beautiful. This hotel was just what we needed after our first day on the TMB! Close walk into town. Would absolutely recommend staying here! Lovely breakfast and dinner options!

Cozy, clean and welcoming

After completing Day 1 of the TMB hike, staying at the Gai Soleil was a pleasant and incredibly welcoming and cozy stay. The room was clean and comfortable and my husband and I had a wonderful view of the mountains as we chose a room with a balcony. The exterior was so beautifully decorated with all the flower boxes and a very inviting garden area where you can enjoy a beverage after a day of hiking. We were offered at 5 euro taxi transfer from the hotel to the start of the trail for the next day, which saved us an extra hour walking on an already long day. We opted for the packed lunch as well and would definitely recommend. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and we really appreciated their efforts to communicate with us in English, as our French is nearly non-existent. I would 10/10 recommend anyone to stay here!

A solid nights stay on the TMB

The property has stunning views and a nice courtyard outside for sitting and taking it all in. It’s up the hill and slightly harder to find without service/internet but we were pointed in the right direction. The beds are super, super firm and at first I thought it would be uncomfortable but I slept fine - I was exhausted. The breakfast buffet was what I expected (yogurt, fruit, nuts, soft boiled eggs, salami/ham, cheese, bread, croissants, etc.)

It was all fine. The restaurant wasn’t open for some reason so we went to a cute and yummy spot in town Carnotzet. Definitely check them out!

It was lovely, even if they thought I was American when I’m

Comfy, quiet, good location & lots of history. The outdoor sauna and hot tub was fantastic. Great storage for skis and boots at the end of the day.

If you have a hire car the parking in peak time can be difficult but we were able to park right outside most days which was very useful when loading/unloading skis etc.

Very helpful and friendly service. Cosy room. Comfortable bed. Copious breakfast buffet. Bath in bathroom.

Noise in the morning from other guests which seemed to be happening outside our room. No tea / coffee-making facilities (although my partner apparently read that a kettle can be provided on request).

The service is terrible in the restaurant located on the ground floor of the hotel. Although the restaurant operates separately from the hotel, it still had a bad impact on the stay in general.
