Lovely property, but not private as marketed, other people walking past the house within two feet!

It’s a lovely property, in a wonderful location within walking distance of Arras, friendly hosts, and well equipped. Very quiet neighbourhood.

Big problem however! The Gite is marketed as a sole occupancy of the house with garden, unfortunately there is no mention of the man and woman who seem to be living in a shed at the back of the owners property (which is next door) and access it via the Gite’s gate, which means they walk at random times of the day right between the house and the so called private garden! Not what I would class as private, therefore you are wary of when you’re sitting outside, or leaving the back door open as there are strangers walking through….. Perhaps the owners should get them to use their gate! This really ruined our stay, there was no privacy, which is how the property is marketed.

Beautiful home. Great location. Lovely welcome from the host. Bedrooms great size. En suites. Beautiful garden. Pictures don't do the place justice.

Nothing. Small suggestion.... If possible more cooking utensils in the kitchen, as we cooked for the group and had minimal large utensils.

Rural escape in the heart of Arras.

Superbly positioned for visiting Arras. Each bedroom area has en suite. The kitchen is well laid out and has all utensils, except a cheese grater. It is easy to walk into Arras via the station. Parking is on site suitable for 2 cars securely locked away. Garden looked great to use, but unfortunately it rained while we were there. Thoroughly recommend. In fact looking at the guest book we found some friends of ours have stayed there too unbeknown to us. Great minds think alike!

Sometimes the gate key code was sticky. Worked for me OK but others struggled. Owners are very nearby if difficulty. Other than that cannot fault the house.

Good location and good size for our group

No soap in bathrooms. Minimal toilet paper. One pillow per bed. Front door key lock needs oil/grease as it was very hard to turn. The car port door floor lock also needs to be greased.

This is a great place to stay - spacious, quiet and a great location.

Great place and location!

This is a nice cottage with all of the amenities and a garage to leave your car in overnight. A small grocery store was close by and restaurants are in the area. Beds were comfortable and great location of the cottage.

It was very hot when we were there, close to 30C. It cools down at night but a large fan would help to cool the room a bit better. There was a window in the bathroom and bedroom that one could open for a good cross breeze. In general it wasn't too noisy on the street.

Fantastic accommodation, would definitely return.

Superb accommodation, excellent facilities , lovely and warm, private secure parking was a bonus. Rooms were large with really comfy beds and the showers were powerful and hot! Kitchen has everything you could possibly need, Wi-Fi was strong enough to be reached anywhere in the house. Gerald and his wife were fantastic, very friendly and didn't once intrude after the initial greeting. Location was superb as its only a 10 min walk into the main square where there are lots of bars and restaurants, there is a E Leclerc hypermarket 5 min drive away which we used to stock up the fridge. If the opportunity arises we will definitely return.

A lovely home and perfect location for exploring Arras

A lovely house, beautifully furnished with everything we needed. Our teen girls loved their big beds!!

It was perhaps better suited to our teens than our toddler, due to the stairs/glass coffee table etc, but he loved exploring it!

A charming gite, with character and comfort, in a good location.

Booking, communication and check-in was excellent. A lovely, warm house with a combination of old character with modern comfort, which suited us perfectly. Location was ideal for us: 10 minute walk to the main squares in town (through the train station underpass), 10 minute walk (or 3 mins by car) to the LeClerc supermarket and the train station (rear exit/entrance) is just around the corner. Parking didn't seem to be a problem, but we definitely appreciated the covered parking area, especially during the rainy weather. The owner, Valérie, was nice and friendly when she popped round to say hello and to check that we were settled. The layout of the house was very good for our family. Relaxing on the sofas or chairs in the evening, or playing a game of cards (provided) around the dining table, added to the feeling of being on holiday. The well-equipped kitchen allowed us the option to cook any meal we wanted, when we weren't dining in town. Each bedroom having its own ensuite was really convenient....and a welcome bonus for the children. The weather was not the best for spending time in the garden, but it was spacious enough and well maintained.....we would have enjoyed being out there if it wasn't so rainy. We would definitely recommend a stay at Gite Histoire de Maison. If we venture to Arras again, this would be our number 1 choice.

A very warm atmosphere with all mod coms and convenient for 1914-18 touring.

Convenient location near train station and roads to Somme / Arras battlefields. Impeccably furnished and clean with three separate rooms for the party. Parking inside courtyard. Owners very charming.

Would highly recommend

Amazing accommodation in Arras - we had our own private house (gite). We spent some time doing a private tour of the WW1 battlefields and it was an excellent choice for our family. Lots of space, private garden, all bedrooms with individual ensuites, very large kitchen. A 10 minute walk into town so it was very quiet, something that I understand can be hard to get with some other accommodation options in Arras.

This property was perfect for us. We ate at home each evening after touring all day. If you wanted to go out for dinner however you need to walk into Arras, around 10 minutes.

Très belle maison idéalement placée

Très jolie maison spacieuse , très bien équipée et très bien placée pour visiter Arras. Au calme avec un bel exterieur , 2 places de parking. Nous y reviendrons avec plaisir lors d’un prochain passage dans le Nord . Je recommande vivement ce magnifique endroit
